Nail of the Week: NARS Nail Lacquer in New York Dolls

NARS on mah nails again.

I've reviewed two NARS polishes in the past (Sharplines Right and Sharplines Left) but I always get that pleasant surprise whenever I use NARS polishes. The formula is just oh-so-fantastic that it'll make you question why you bother with other brands. (Well I bother because I'm a nail polish obsessed person but that's another story for another day, kiddos.)

New York Dolls. Sigh, how could I even begin? This creme polish has a simple yet gorgeous shade of purple. In a way, it is blue based since that are no hints of red anywhere. It's a color that could be worn anytime. It can be a fun summery color for those who are  not into typical bright shades and it can be a shade that can go with gloomy days. Honestly, you can never go wrong with this shade.

Formula is, as always, fantastic. It applied smoothly as it isn't too thick nor too watery. The brush is quite narrow but because the bristles aren't too stiff, it worked perfectly. I had no issues with it pooling at the cuticles and if you aren't as fussy as I am, you can definitely get away with just one coat. Another thing I liked about it is how quick drying this polish is. I'd say it dried faster than the first two polishes I reviewed and those two dried pretty quickly. Superb texture, amazing color, and lightning quick drying time? Man, I'm so sold. Take my money and soul, NARS. Take everything.

New York Dolls came out as part of the Andy Warhol collection back in 2012 so I'm not sure you can still purchase this on a NARS counter. I was able to get a hold of this in the biannual Shiseido Warehouse sale in Singapore the same time I got the Sharplines Duo. However, NARS polishes in general are worth checking out. They have incredible formulas and shades to choose from. They're not drugstore prices but they're worth every penny, I promise. (This isn't a sponsored post, I swear haha! I just really like their polishes with a passion.)
