Peach/Orange edition!

If there's one post that I've been dying to do, it's this very one you're reading right now: a corrector-off featuring the ones I have (and mainly use) in my stash! As someone who has dark areas on my face like undereye circles, veins, and pimple scars, orange correctors help a lot in correcting the darkness and make concealing so much easier and seamless. Isn't it wild that there was a time when correctors were only a professional makeup artist thing and now they're available for everyone, from beginners to pros? Oh, how I love the ever evolving beauty industry!

Here I have three* correctors that I use on myself. I have already reviewed each of them (just search for them if you want in-depth reviews) but I wanted a shorter side-by-side comparison between them for blogging(?) purposes. They're also quite easy to get locally so hopefully this can help you in choosing which one to get.

Shall we begin?

*I technically only have two out of the three correctors in my stash because I gave my sister the Sooper Beaute one. However, it was the one I had and used the longest so I still remember how it looked, felt, and performed as a corrector.

The Correctors

Sooper Beaute's Skin Cover Tint is "a liquid skin tint that gives a radiant veil to make skin look naturally seamless."

Issy's Active Color Corrector is a "a lightweight color-correcting cream with hydrating and skin-loving benefits for counterbalancing unwanted natural discoloration."

The Saem's Cover Perfection Tip Concealer is "a liquid type concealer that covers small flaws like dark under eyes & freckles."

Formulated With

The Skin Cover Tint is formulated with Vitamin E that helps protect and strengthen the skin

The Active Color Corrector has purslane extract, which is packed with glutathione and Vitamins A, C and E; aloe leaf juice, which soothes and calms; and Centella Asiatica extract that boosts hydration and helps with the recovery of compromised skin.

The Cover Perfection Tip Concealer is infused with oxygen complex and glacier water to keep skin moisturized, as well as reflective powder to give skin that natural, healthy glow. This concealer/corrector also contains SPF 28 PA++ sun protection.

Price + Net Weight

The Skin Cover Tint retails for ₱199 and contains 6ml of product.

The Active Color Corrector retails for ₱349 and contains 15ml of product.

The Cover Perfection Tip Concealer ranges from ₱155-₱199 and contains 6.5g of product.

Packaging

Both the Skin Cover Tint and the Cover Perfection Tip Concealer have a concealer tube-type of packaging with a doe foot applicator. The Skin Cover Tint has a frosty acrylic body while the Cover Perfection Tip Concealer has the standard plastic packaging.

The Active Color Corrector, on the other hand, comes in a soft plastic squeeze-type tube which I still have mixed feeling about. I just feel like for such a runny product, the packaging needs to have a product controller or stopper, you know? I feel like a dropper or a pump is needed with this packaging.

Shade, Texture, and Coverage

Among the concealers, The Skin Cover Tint in 04 has the strongest orange color. It has a soft matte finish and has a concealer-like consistency that's creamy but thin. I'd say it has a medium to full coverage and the shade depth suits those with a medium tan to deep skintone.

The Active Color Corrector in Light Peach is perfect for those with light medium to medium skintones as it's more of a peachy shade. This corrector is also the most liquidy and runny among the three. This has a sheer coverage but buildable to a medium and has more of a dewy finish.

The Cover Perfection Tip Concealer in Peach Beige has the lightest peach color and one you can use as a concealer if you have a fair to light skintone. As a medium skintoned girl, I use this as an undereye brightener as well. This has a medium coverage that's buildable to a full and just like the The Skin Cover Tint, it has a concealer-like texture with a non-drying (to me, at least) matte finish.

Personal Experience & Thoughts

I've used the Skin Cover Tint in 04 the longest and if I remember correctly, it's my first liquid orange corrector. However, I find it too orange for my medium skintone, and sometimes I'd have a hard time concealing the orange hue with my concealer. I have to really control the amount I put on my face or else it'll peek through, especially when I use sheer concealers or bases. Having said that, I have to give where credit is due: among the three correctors, this one covers any dark spots the most because of its opacity!

The Active Color Corrector in Light Peach for me was actually a surprise! I didn't think I'd like it since it's so runny but I really liked how hydrating and dewy it looks on the skin. It doesn't dry out my undereyes and it actually does a great job in corrector my dark areas such as my undereyes and veins. This shade is actually a nice match on my skintone and I'm glad I have this in my collection!

The Cover Perfection Tip Concealer in Peach Beige is, I think, my least used corrector just because I feel like it functions more as a concealer! This is honestly like a peach-toned concealer than a corrector and one you can use alone like a two birds, one stone type of product. I love the coverage of this product and I think I'll be getting an actual concealer from this line because the opacity is really good. On my skintone, I like using it as an undereye brightener alongside my other more skin-toned concealers.

In Conclusion

If you ask me which one of these correctors is my go-to and the one that does a great job in correcting dark spots and areas, I'm gonna say it's Issy's Active Color Corrector in Light Peach! I like that it's the correct corrector shade for my skintone, it doesn't feel drying at all on the undereyes, and that it's easy to layer concealer and/or a base on top of it. Though it may not be as opaque as other correctors, you can easily layer this corrector without fear of it looking too orange on the skin. Plus, it blends well with my concealers, even with my sheer ones!
Heartbreaking to say but I'll unlikely repurchase the Skin Cover Tint since I find its orange hue a bit too strong for my skintone and liking. Plus, there are other brands that have the same shade so I'll likely try out those instead. And lastly, one I'll use more as an undereye brightener (and maybe even as a concealer shade adjuster) than a corrector is Cover Perfection Tip Concealer. I just love how brightening this is on the undereyes- who knew a light peach-toned concealer works better than a yellow toned one? However, if you have a fair to light skintone, this'll work beautifully as both a corrector and concealer.

And there you have it: my three orange correctors side by side by side! I hope I somehow helped you pick out a corrector and even encouraged you to go pick one up because orange correctors are such a game changer in your makeup routine! I personally cannot skip it anymore because it just helps a lot in concealing my undereyes and veins- areas that sometimes concealers can't hide fully!

So I'm curious: what's your go-to orange corrector? I'm always up to try out new products so please let me know! Talk to you soon! xx
