The New Clear in Stash Town

Staple.

A few weeks back, I had to let go of my trusty Sephora Lash & Eyebrow Mascara. It has been a brow staple of mine for the last couple of years but I needed to replace it because there's barely any product left and it's already muddy as hell. It was a well loved product, to put it simply.

Thankfully, my sister gave me a new clear mascara when I last visited her so I had a backup in my stash. It's bigger, has more product, and not from Sephora.
The product I have is The Body Shop's Brow & Lash Gel. Product description in The Body Shop's website:

"A quick slick of this clear gel will define your natural lashes and hold eyebrows in place. It comes with an integrated applicator brush."

They also indicated that this is dermatologically tested, ophthalmologically tested, and is suitable for contact wearers. I won't be using this for the lashes but it's nice to know it's safe to use in that area. Check out the product page for ingredients in case you want to look into it.
This tube is 10ml which I really appreciate because it means I get to have a lot of brows on fleek moments haha! And so far, this product is far from a disappointment.

The product has a thick gel consistency that seems to be suspended in the container. It's not flowy or thin but the suction on the spout(?) keeps the brush from being overloaded with product. You don't need to scrape the excess before using it because there's none; the product on the brush is enough for both brows in one go.

What I like about this product is that it grooms the brows cleanly and properly. It doesn't make my brow hair crunchy or stiff. My brows still feel like brows but they're more defined and they're in the direction I want them to be. When I use this, it feels like I have nothing on. It's very lightweight but it works like a charm.

Upon application, the scent is noticeable. It's somewhat a plant-y/nature-y scent that I think is pretty present on most of TBS' mascaras. It lingers for a little while but it vanishes after 15 minutes or so. I tried this product on bare brows and with filled (powder) brows and setting time is surprisingly different. On bare brows, it sets longer. After around 4 hours-ish, the product is still tacky but it's mostly on the skin area itself. The brow hairs are good but the skin/root area is tacky with product. On filled brows, however, it seems like the product settled faster. After 3 hours, the tackiness is gone. So in conclusion, this works better with filled brows. I haven't tried it yet a with waxy brow product but with powder, it performed really well. I had a fear that it'll make my brows smudge since it doesn't set quickly but instead, it "sealed" my brows in place. It didn't move any product nor made some areas patchy. Pretty good, if you ask me.

Overall, I'm quite pleased with this product. In a way, I think this performs better than the Sephora clear mascara I've been using for years. Oh, and I quite like the thin, long brush too. It covers a large brow area in one go so application doesn't take too much time. It also helps that the brush has a lot of bristles which ensures that each brow hair gets covered in product. So if you're looking for a clear brow gel to set your pretty on fleek arches, you might want to check this one out. ;)
