Sampling Samples: Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream EX
The cream for dry skin.
I've already featured (and raved!) two Laneige Water Bank samples before, the Gel Cream and the Essence. Both products did an amazing job in hydrating and moisturizing my skin while also being lightweight on the skin. I think I still have 2 Water Bank remaining samples in my stash so let's start with this one right here!
I don't know about you guys but my skin because really dry and textured last December. I thought it was caused by a new cleanser I've been trying that time but I eventually found out that it was because of the cold weather slash sudden drop of temperature. See, my skin is used to the usual Philippine heat and humidity so it got weird and freaked out by the sudden coldness and dryness of December. Same thing happened back in 2019 when I went to Europe and my skin got dry and rough all of a sudden but now I know what to do: lather it up with tons of moisturizer.
Since the Water Bank Gel Cream and Essence did an amazing job with my skin, I thought it's best to try the Water Bank Moisture Cream this time around. But what is it?
The Water Bank Moisture Cream is "a deep hydration cream with Green Mineral Water to strengthen the skin barrier, so it stays healthy and strong for 24 hours." It is mainly recommended for dry skin and for skin requiring deep hydration.
The Moisture Cream has some key features in its formula: the Water Zipper technology that lock moisture into the skin, the Hydro Fresh Matrix that forms a moisture barrier that keeps the skin hydrated all day long, Green Mineral Water + Garden Cress Extract that offers an anti-oxidant effect, and a high concentration of minerals extracted from Laneige's own Ocean Brew method.
This cream is supposed to be applied after the Water Bank Essence and Water Bank Eye Gel but since I don't have both (at least I don't think so) I just proceeded to use it like a moisturizer that I apply after cleansing my face. Just like the previous Water Bank products I've tried, the cream's formula is thin and spreadable and smells just as refreshing. One thing that makes it different is that it's very much a cream rather than a gel/water-based product. When I apply it, instead of fully drying, it leaves a faint film on the skin that helps the skin stay moisturized for longer. That film isn't like others that feels super slippery and annoying; it's just faint and don't worry, it goes away after a few hours.
Since it's just a small sample, I was only able to use it for 2 and a half-ish days and on those days, I could say that this cream held true to its claim. It made my dry patches smooth and my skin hydrated and oh so moisturized. It's definitely what my skin needs right now! Not only that, it also helps make my skin look healthier, smoother, and somewhat brighter. Love it!
Just like the Water Bank Gel Cream and Water Bank Essence, the Moisture Cream is worth getting full-sized, especially if you are suffering from dry to extremely dry skin. It's really effective in moisturizing and hydrating the skin without the heaviness and extreme scent of a regular face cream, plus a little of it goes a long way. In those 2 days of usage, I didn't experience any breakouts at all which is definitely a good thing. Another hit from Laneige!
