Yay or Nay: Sooper Beaute Lash and Brow Oil
All oiled up!
If there's one thing I wish had, it's fuller lashes. I unfortunately have thin and straight down Asian lashes that needs to be curled and topped with mascara if I want them known to everyone. If I have more time, I go for falsies or the self-adhesive cluster lashes (that are SO much faster and fun to put on!). Bottom-line is, I need reinforcements for my lash situation. But sometimes putting products on my lashes causes them to thin out more so I've been on the hunt for a serum that'll help strengthen my lashes and maybe make them grow faster and longer. After searching, I decided to try out Sooper Beaute's!
You already know how I love Sooper Beaute's serums so of course I had to try their Lash and Brow Oil! It is made of pure castor oil, known for hair conditioning and nourishing properties. Castor Oil contains essential fatty acids from Ricinoleic Acid and natural Vitamin E, properties that are naturally anti-aging and nourishing. These help the hair become longer, stronger, and more voluminous!
A few benefits of castor oil include: stronger hair follicles, fluffier lashes, thicker brows, enhanced hair growth, and hydrated skin.
Lash and Brow Oil contains 7ml of product and retails for ₱130 (though as of the moment, this product is currently sold out.)
Sooper Beaute's Lash and Brow Oil contains castor oil which has a stickier or slightly thicker consistency than other oils I've used before like sunflower or grapeseed. It's kind of similar to glucose in a way, only castor oil has that slick feel and is significantly thinner.
As for application, I first scrape the excess product off the spoolie before applying the oil on my lashes and brows. This is because spoolie picks up a lot of oil and lots of oil on my face is something I'm not a fan of. After brushing the oil on my brows, I work it in even more with my fingers until it gets more absorbed. I do the same routine on my lashes as well.
Is the oil effective? On my brows, yes. My brows are naturally fast growers but when I used the oil on them, they got slightly thicker than normal. So brows, yes, totally recommend this product! Results on my lashes were inconclusive because I didn't use the oil as consistently on them, as you'll read down below.
So here's my issue with the oil itself. I find that the oil doesn't really dry down entirely which can be an issue especially whenever I use this oil before going to bed because the oil transfers to my pillowcases and blanket! Not only that, it feels uncomfortable on my lashes. The oil doesn't really sting but causes cloudiness in my vision which I find just as irritating. Plus, whenever I wake up, my eyes feel heavy and oily and just weird.
All in all, I guess it's safe to say that I won't be repurchasing this lash and brow oil. I love Sooper Beaute but this is just not for me. I am simply off-put by the fact that the oil doesn't dry down, gets on my things, makes my eyes heavy and uncomfortable. Maybe castor oil is just not for me and the next time I get a lash and brow oil, I need something that's not castor oil based. If you have a reco for me, please feel free to comment down below!
