The Tinted Alternative: Dazzle Me 24/7 Wonderfullip Serum in Universal

For the girlies who want 'em tinted.

Almost two years ago, I featured my very first Dazzle Me product here on the blog: the 24/7 Wonderfullip Serum. This lip serum is one of Dazzle Me's best-selling products and for good reason: it's moisturizing, glossy, and versatile. It's one I can use on its own or on top of my other lippies and I love that it's not sticky and heavy on the lips. Since we all loved the 24/7 Wonderfullip Serum, Dazzle Me decided to come out with its twin: the tinted version!

This is the Universal 24/7 Wonderfullip Serum, a lightweight and multi-benefit lip serum, lip protectant, and gloss in one. This means that not only will this product hydrate your lips and repair dryness, it will also protect your lips from the harmful rays of the sun since it has SPF20!

Included in its lip-loving and lip-hydrating ingredients are:

🌹 Rose oil + Hyaluronic acid (help in moisturizing and softening, plus improves the appearance of lip lines)

🍇 Grape seed extract + Pomegranate extract (help in brightening lip color and lessens dullness)

🌱 Jojoba seed oil (helps in rehydrating flaky/chapped lips)

This lip serum is formulated without alcohol and is not animal-tested and retails for ₱169 for 2g.

The new tinted Wonderfullip Serum also comes in a new packaging that's reflective of its name! If the clear version of the serum comes in a transparent bottle, the Universal serum comes in an opaque pink-purple bottle! Still pretty cute, still pretty on-brand for Dazzle Me and definitely distinct from the clear version! (Also, did you know that its applicator is washable??)

Texture-wise, it's just like the clear version. It's thin and lightweight, like a cross between a gloss and a lip oil. I like that the Universal version is just as moisturizing and just as shiny, and more importantly, both versions are comfy and aren't sticky on the lips.

Using the Universal variant is definitely different from its clear version. Since this is tinted, I need to be less haphazard in applying this one on my lips or else it'll get everywhere. I also find that the more I use the applicator to even it out, the more this serum moves around. So a little reminder every time you use this serum: it's not a lipstick or gloss- it's a hydrating serum. I find that the best way to even this one out is to apply it first with the applicator then use your finger to blend it out. This way, you get to warm up and work the product on your lips while getting rid of the excess at the same time. You'll always get an even layer of this product this way, trust me!

Also, at the end of the day, the Wonderfullip Universal Serum is still a lip serum which means that being long-lasting or budge-proof on the lips is not to be expected. It comes off easily once you wipe it off or when you eat or drink. Also, though it's tinted, don't expect that a tint will be left when you wipe it off so it's best to just reapply.

Now let's talk about the shade. If the clear Wonderfullip Serum gives you a natural pink shade that's pH level-dependent, the Universal Wonderfullip Serum has a fixed tint that's supposed to be flattering on all skintones. I can't find the exact shade description but from what I see, it's like a deep reddish brown with a hint of pink kind of shade. For a universally flattering shade, I was expecting this one to be more of a muted pink or a taupe-y shade so the deep reddish brown kind of threw me off. It's a nice shade, just one I wasn't expecting. Is this a universally flattering shade? Technically yes, though I personally wish it was a shade or two lighter.

As a medium-tan skintoned person, I have mixed feelings about this shade. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I feel like it's a bit much, especially during the day. Maybe it's just me but I find it a bit too deep for daytime? I usually go for medium browns or pinks so the deep red for daytime is something I'm not ~feeling~. I do have to say though that this shade is pretty nice for those like me with two-toned lips. This serum's tint has a medium to full opacity which holds up quite well against my lips.

Dazzle Me's Wonderfullip Serum is one of my favorite lip serum/gloss in the market and I'm quite glad that they made a tinted version of it as the Universal variant is a perfect 2-in-1 lippie for those on the go who likes both color and hydration on the lips. Both variants are great and so nourishing on the lips so it's just a matter of preference on which one to get. Get the clear variant if you want it simple and/or if you want to use it as a lip topper or gloss; get Universal if you prefer a tint plus extra sun protection!
