Today was one of those days where I just go out of the house and into our backyard to snap photos of random things. The first photo was an insect I saw perched on a leaf of our calamansi plant. There's just something interesting about it that made me want to take a photo of it. The second photo is a dragonfly which is something I don't always see nowadays. When I was younger, I used to catch dragonflies by their wings. I did that to look at them closely and I liked the feeling of being able to catch something. Don't worry, I release the dragonflies I catch after I look at them. :) The last photos are my two boys, Maru and JepJep. Maru is my 12 year-old dog who's been with my family since I was eight. He's my most favorite dog, even when his parents and brother were still alive. JepJep was given to us 10 months ago, I think he's turning one this year. It was such a joy to see two dogs get along even if they didn't grow up together. Ah, the joys of owning dogs. :)

Ah. Damn, that's why I hate going out on Valentine's Day.

Happy Hearts Day, everyone!
Last month, I bought Maybelline's Baby Lips lip balm in Anti-Oxidant Berry and I absolutely loved it. It made my lips really smooth and it kept chapped lips at bay, plus it smells really good. I would've made a January Favorites post for last month but because Griffin broke, I had to pass. But if that post pushed through, that lip balm would be included in it.

Last week, I passed by a Maybelline stall and I was so excited to see Baby Lips Color Lip Balm! I went to their lip balm stand and immediately purchased Berry Crush, one of the two Color balms available (the other one was pink).

Berry Crush gives a red with a subtle pink translucent color when applied. It also gives shine but not as shiny as a lip gloss. I used this last Sunday and after eating lunch, my lips are still soft and smooth, and there's still a little tint. If you compare the smell of the Anti-Oxidant Berry and Berry Crush, I'd say the smell of the former is sweet and girly berry, while the latter is more grown up and more strawberry scented.

Unlike an untinted lip balm though, you need to apply this in front of a mirror because if you go over the edges of your lips, it might be noticeable. Also, if you have chapped lips and you apply this, the flaking would be prominent to you have to scrub it off before applying another layer. What I do is apply the regular lip balm first, scrub the dead skin off, then apply the tinted lip balm.

I'd give this lip balm an A because it does what a lip balm should do plus it gives your lips a lovely red tint and it's also affordable at Php 89.00. The Baby Lips Color lip balms are perfect for girls who want to wear a lip color but a bit scared to wear lipsticks, for those who want to wear a lip color that's fuss-free, and for everyone who's bored of regular lip balms. Because I loved this, I might get the pink one too! <3
Reminder: Be good a Catholic and go to church today. +
Hoho, Valentine's Day is three days away! Not that I really care (lol) but since it's that day where dates and (cheesy) love songs are "in", I decided to contribute to the music department by making this list. Now, I know that not everyone likes or listens to Taylor Swift so I guess this is for the fans like me? :)) Anyway, T Swift may be known for her heartbreak/revenge songs but her love songs are equally worth listening to. So without further ado, here are the songs that I classify as Valentine's Day-worthy.

1. I'm Only Me When I'm With You

2. Jump Then Fall

3. Fearless
1. "Bubblegum Bitch" - Marina and The Diamonds
2. "Around the World" - Christina Aguilera
3. "Love Song" - Glee Cast
4. "Storm Warning" - Hunter Hayes
5. "How to Be a Heartbreaker" - Marina and The Diamonds
6. "Somebody's Heartbreak" - Hunter Hayes
7. "C'mon" -  Ke$ha
8. "Contagious" - Boys Like Girls
9. "My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Light Em Up)" - Fall Out Boy
10. "Blank Page" - Christina Aguilera

Excuse my sleep-deprived face. D:

If you've noticed, I've been posting a lot of photos from my trip to Singapore these past few days. There's actually a two reasons behind that aside from sharing them.

1. I caught a cold 2 days ago and I'm still not well, hence the tired face. It's very uncomfortable to sleep when your nose is clogged with snot. (I know it's gross, but it's true!) Aside from a cold, my throat feels very dry and I find it hard to swallow. But no worries, I think I'm getting better. I've got my meds and my tissue papers on hand. :D

2. The main reason why I don't have recent beauty posts/review or other recent stuff is because Griffin, my handy Canon digicam, is currently being repaired. There was something wrong with the lens shutter and the photos I take come out like I set the exposure on maximum. It was seriously frustrating so I decided to take it to a repair shop. I'll be getting Griffin either on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, and hopefully he'll be alright. I can't wait to take photos with him again, so please pray for his recovery (and mine too)!
Another (late) food post! Last January 13th, my sister and bro-in-law decided to order pizza for dinner since we were full from our breakfast in Wild Honey and no one was in the mood to cook. xD We first called Domino's but unfortunately they don't deliver in our condo's area which was a bummer since I absolutely love their garlic bread and the dip that goes with it. :( So Plan B was to order from Spizza.

Spizza is an Italian pizza chain in Singapore who's famous for their thin-crusted wood-fired pizzas. I haven't tried wood-fired pizzas before and I'm glad Spizza was the first. Aside from pizza, they also serve salads, pasta, antipasti, oven-baked dishes, and desserts.

These are the 12-inch pizzas we ordered for dinner:
This is Helena (S$21): Tomato, Mozzarella, Grilled Chicken in Pesto Sauce, and Bell Peppers. This is my favorite because chicken + pesto is my weakness. It was very cheesy and the chicken pesto was lovely. I recommend adding chili flakes with this for extra zing. ;)

Next is Ursula (S$24): Tomato, Mascarpone, Spinach, Smoked Salmon, and Capers. Another weakness of mine is mascarpone. The mascarpone went really well with the spinach and smoked salmon. I would've liked this pizza but I'm not really a big fan of salmon. But overall, it's really good!

The last pizza is Isabella (S$24): Tomato, Mozzarella, Parma Ham, and Rucola Salad. I really liked this one. The parma ham was really, really good. And I kind of snacked on the rucola. :))

Overall, their thin crust pizzas were filling and satisfying. I like what they did with their delivered pizzas; the toppings were in separate plastic containers and you get to assemble your pizza, plus the greens are crisp and fresh. We also got 3 small containers of cheese and chili flakes. I loved the chili flakes on my pizza too!
Last January 5th, the whole family and I went to Din Tai Fung for lunch. We went to their Somerset branch.  We had to wait for a couple of minutes to be seated, that's how packed the place is. But no worries, it was worth the wait.
The first ones that arrived were these dishes. We had Stir-fried Hong Kong Kailan with Special Sauce (S$11), Oriental Salad in Special Vinegar Dressing (S$3.50), Century Eggs with Diced Ginger (S$3.80), and Hot & Sour Soup (S$7.50). I liked everything in this set. The Kailan was saucy yet crunchy. The salad was a mix of sweet, sour, and spicy. The century egg was served cold and I recommend eating it with bits of ginger. It was also sweet. The soup was the bomb! That was probably the best hot and sour soup I've ever eaten. It was peppery spicy and tangy and it warms your tummy. Is it weird if I call this comfort food?
The next set consists of two rice dishes, Fried Rice with Shrimps and Eggs (S$10.80) and Fried Rice with Pork Chop (S$9.90). We also ordered Crispy Golden Prawn Pancake (S$9.00). I didn't really eat rice since I was getting full from the other dishes we ordered but my mom and dad said the rice dishes were good. I tried the pork chops though. It wasn't as crispy or breaded as the usual pork chops but I'd say it was more like Bon Chon's pork chops except the sweetness or other Bon Chon flavors. But it was still good. I enjoyed the prawn pancakes the most. It was like our own okoy but this one's chewier and has the pancake consistency. It was very flavorful and you can really taste the prawns. Two thumbs up!
You can NOT leave Din Tai Fung without ordering their dumplings! I swear this is like a dumpling happy place. The dumplings we had are the first three photos in the set (top photos and bottom left one). These were Steamed Pork Dumplings (S$9.50 for 10 pcs), Steamed Shrimp & Pork Dumplings (S$10.30 for 10 pcs), and Steamed Shrimp & Pork Shao-mai (S$14.30 for 10 pcs). My most favorite is the shao-mai with the whole shrimp on top and warm broth inside. Looking at this photos is making me crave for dumpling! Drool.

For dessert, we ordered Steamed Yam Dumplings (S$8.30 for 10 pcs) (bottom right photo). Ahh, another yummy dessert! My love for yam and ube will never ever end. Like, ever. And that's coming from someone who didn't like ube for years. :P

Din Tai Fung's food were all so filling and worth the money. I also loved the place, it was homey and very family and baby friendly. The staff were also very accommodating. No wonder the place is always full. :)
This is the last part of the Flower Dome series. I had fun looking through these pictures and I hope you, the reader, did too. I honestly loved touring around Gardens by the Bay and I hope I'll get to explore its other areas when I go back to Singapore.
It was my first time to see real, live poinsettias. Dope!
Meet the fam!
I loved their Christmas decorations, specially the goose! :)) | Got to see the Singapore Eye and Marina Bay Sands!

And this ends my GbtB posts! If you ever go to Singapore, do visit Gardens by the Bay, preferably on the afternoon so it's not that hot. Just remember, it's packed on weekends so I recommend going on a weekday.

I'm still thinking on what I should post next. Food trips (of some sort) or my visit to S.E.A. Oh well, I'll just surprise you!

Happy February 1st! As promised, here's the second batch of photos from my Flower Dome visit. Prepare yourself for color!
First thing that entered my mind when I saw the plant with white leaves: Winter is coming! #GoTGeek
ASDFGHJKL, how cute is my nephew!? <3

The last post would contain more plants (duh!), family photos, decorations, and two iconic Singapore tourist spots. Ciao! ;)
