Shash Stash

I decided to go dark for today's EOTD. The main reason I did this was because I wanted to use an eyeshadow I've always wanted to try: The Body Shop's Mineral eyeshadow in Deep Jade. I've had this for quite a while now but I haven't had the chance to use it until now. I have to say, I think I like it! I initially thought it would be a mess to use considering that it's a loose shadow but nope, all I got was minimal fallout, just like the fallout I get from regular eyeshadows. Plus the gold shimmers in it adds oomph to it, especially when applied. This mineral shadow gets a thumbs-up!

How I did it:
1. I started with a green pencil as lid base. I applied the pencil all over my lid and blended it with my finger.
2. Then I patted Deep Jade all over the lid. Remember not to sweep the shadow as it will be messier and the color will be less intense.
3. I used Buck for my crease and outer lid.
4. I highlighted my brow bone with Virgin, my go-to highlighter.
5. Going back to Deep Jade, I applied the shadow on my lower lid without a base. As you can see, it's less intense which I think balances the heaviness of the upper lid and somewhat brightens the look.
6. I next made a wing liner on my upper lid and I also lined my waterline.
7. I applied mascara on my top and bottom lashes and I put on fake lashes because I was feeling fancy. :P

Hello there! Here I am with my very first video (!!!) here in my blog. I just learned how to do the Cups song yesterday and I can't stop doing it since this morning! You might be thinking that it's so last year, but come on, it's fun! :))

Also, you might be wondering why I'm using my left hand instead of my right. Well, what happened was I practiced with my left and it was too late when I realized that I have to use my right. Fail much? :)) But no worries, I can do it with my right hand now but I still feel more comfortable when I use my left. :)

Sorry for the low quality video, dunno what happened when I uploaded it here. Oh and before I forget, how hipster can I get by not using an actual cup? XD

A couple of days ago, I watched NikkieTutorials' video where she did a Youtube tag: Colors of the Rainbow. It looked fairly easy and fun so I decided to do this tag in blog form. The tag not only included the seven colors of the rainbow but pink and multicolor were added too. I rummaged through my makeup stash and I successfully found the products for this tag. Let's get started!

RED
↬ Elizabeth Arden Color Intrigue Effects Lipstick in Cranberry Cream. This is my favorite red lipstick in my kit. I like that it's not a bright red but not a dark, vampy red either. Its shade also varies when it's photographed when worn. Without flash, it's a cherry red; with flash, it's strawberry red.
↬ La Reina Eyelashes #925. Okay, I know it's not entirely red but I think really nice to use this for red. I got this in Suesh because I just love anything with a red/black color combo. Plus this pair of lashes scream punk and Harley Quinn-crazy, don't you think?

ORANGE
↬ Kryolan TV Paint Stick #508. I used this in makeup school as a color corrector for bluish/purplish spots, specifically for undereye circles and bruises.
↬ Suesh Makeup Sponge. Makeup sponges/blenders are my best friends. I got this sponge when Suesh held a sale last December 2012.

YELLOW
↬ Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. Just so we're clear, this is different from the Eight Hour Cream with a white bottle. This is more like a sunblock for the face as it contains SPF50. The original one is for intensive moisturizing. I tried both and I liked the original one more just because it made my skin soft as a baby's. I have a slight issue with this one because if you apply too much, it might feel too oily. I love that it has a high SPF though!
↬ Liese Free Arrange Hairspray. Probably my most used hairspray. I use this most of the time because it doesn't harden the hair compared to the Super Hard one. I absolutely love the  fruity scent too!

GREEN
↬ The Body Shop Nature's Minerals Eye Colour in 09 Deep Jade. I totally forgot I have this! Thank goodness I rummaged through my makeup stuff. Deep Jade is a mineral eyeshadow with flecks of gold. I tried this the other day and it applied like a dream, especially with a creamy base.
↬ Kat Von D Tattoo Chronicles Candelabra Edition Shadows in Nerd and Night of the Hunter. Two green eyeshadows that I really like. One shimmer, one matte.

BLUE
↬ China Glaze in Blue Year's Eve. My go-to blue nail polish! Whenever I have this color on my nails, I just feel summery and fun.
↬ Urban Decay Smoked Eye Shadow in Evidence. Such a gorgeous sapphire color. I haven't played with it yet but I think I will soon!

INDIGO
↬ NYX Dramatic Chromatic Eyeshadow Pigment in Violet. Seriously, does that look violet to you? I slightly panicked when I searched for indigo-colored products because I'm not really familiar with the color. Apparently indigo is a color between blue and violet so when I saw this pigment, I knew this was it. I did a little indigo research and I saw a shade of it that's so close to the color of the pigment. The shade's a bright indigo that's included in Crayola crayons. #5D76CB

VIOLET
↬ MAC Victorious Opulash. Such a fun mascara color! Wish my eyelashes were lighter though just so it would be more obvious on me.
↬ The Body Shop Eye Definer Shade in Glowing Amethyst. I use this as a base whenever I feel like doing a purple look on my eye.

PINK
↬ The Body Shop 02 Eye & Cheek Palette Blush. My favorite blush ever! I like that it's subtle and buildable. It has little gold shimmers that add glow to the cheeks and brightens the face.
↬ Cosmoprof Lip Palette Pink Lip Color. No idea what the lippie is called but I absolutely love this shade! Perfect for those tanned ladies out there.

MULTICOLOR
↬ Cosmoprof Eye Palette. I think it's a given that makeup palettes will be featured in the multicolor part of this tag. Haha!

So that's my little tag! I had fun doing it though I had a hard time picking which makeup/beauty products to feature because I feel like they're all my children and they all need to be in the spotlight. :))

I TAG EVERYONE WHO READ THIS POST! And if you do this tag, make sure to let me know by posting the link of your tag post on my comment box. I'd love to see your take on this tag. :) xx

Heya! So my obsession with red eyebrows is featured in today's EOTD. I don't know why but painting my eye brows red entertains me a lot. I think it's because I'm tired of seeing brown and black eyebrows? Or red brows are just fun to have from time to time? Haha. :P

Here's the pencil I used to fill my brows. It's an LA Girl lip pencil (yes, it's a lip pencil!) called Smooth Plum. I picked this mainly because when I swatched it, it turned plummy red but when I used it, it turned out looking really red! But that's okay because I love red brows. I also love that my black eyebrow hair creates contrast to the color of the pencil I ended up having red-with-black-spikes brows. :))

How I did the eye look:
I kept the eye makeup really simple because the red brow is the main highlight of today's look. So kept everything matte except for the brow highlight. As for why I used two black pencils, it's because I found that Perversion can dry really quickly when applied so when I tried to smudge it, I ended up tugging my upper lashline. So I switched to a pencil that's creamy enough to blend and finish the wing liner, so I used Smolder over Perversion.

When I first saw the trailer of this movie, I thought "This would be epic.". And I was right. This movie, so far, is the best movie I've seen this year.

I don't want to spoil anything or else you won't be awed anymore. The trailer itself would make you think that it's just about magicians robbing banks and the police chasing them. Well, it's more than that. The plot twist just blew me away, so much that this was my reaction:

I definitely didn't see it coming. Once scene that I also loved was the car chase. Damn, it was like Fast and Furious all over again. :)) I loved the cast too. It was nice to see Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson again because I really loved them in Zombieland. Isla Fisher and Dave Franco did a really good job too. Mark Ruffalo did justice to his cunning character, though I still thought he'd change to the Hulk. :))

Now You See Me is a must-watch. It's funny, action-packed, surprising (this is an understatement), and mind-blowing. Guess I have another fave movie I can watch over and over again like Christopher Nolan's Inception. :)
