Himalaya Herbals Lip Balm Review

Balming up.

In this day and age, everybody's pretty much sporting a lip product in every shade and finish possible. Whether it's a satin or a matte, a bullet or in liquid form, everyone's pretty much a lippie addict now. So am I, to be honest. I can't leave the house without a lipstick on. I love wearing pinks because it looks natural and effortless but I also love sporting deep shades every now and then. This love for lipsticks made me take more care of my lips, making sure it's prepped, unchapped, and healthy. So naturally, lip balms are my (lip) life-savers.

I'm an avid fan of using petroleum jelly on my lips. I've had days where my lips are so chapped, cuts started forming. Petroleum jelly helped me through those times. It healed the cuts and moisturized the hell out of it. Those stick lip balms got nothing on good 'ol petroleum jelly, in my opinion. I know there are articles saying that it's bad for the lips and all that but based on personal experience, it's the bomb.

So really, it's a shock even to me when I got a tube of lip balm instead of a small pot of PJ. Guess I just wanted to try something new and not add another pot of PJ to my pile. A small pot of PJ is definitely worth my money but as always, curiosity urged me to try something else. So here, I've got a new product to show you.

Here I have the Himalaya Herbals Lip Balm, the only lip care product I used during my recent trip to Singapore. Himalaya Herbals has a lot of good, natural ingredients in all of their products so it's no surprise that this lip balm has a lot of good stuff in it. This lip balm is enriched by two oils: Carrot Seed Oil, a natural sunscreen, and Wheatgerm Oil, a source of Vitamin E. Both of these oils help nourish and soften the lips, making it healthy and free of dryness.

This lip balm comes in a squeeze type tube and the product itself is transparent and almost jelly-like, and it just spreads so easily on the lips. To be honest, one of the things I love about it is the scent. It doesn't smell too much like chemical. Instead, it smells like bubblegum. Not overly sweet but not too artificially-made either.

I absolutely love how it feels on the lips. It's not tingly or hot, just plain comfortable. It also doesn't feel sticky at all. It's just one of those products you can use anytime, anywhere. I love using it at night before I sleep. I slap on a good amount and let it do its work. In the morning, I'm left with chapless lips that are ready for a good few swipes of my fave lippie. I've also used it on chapped and cut lips and it did a great job in healing my lips. One more thing I like about it: it doesn't make my lips darker. I've used those stick balms before and they all made my lips darker. I guess in a way they burned my lips, making it more discolored than ever. That's why I've always stuck with PJ. But this lip balm just gives me a lot of hope in new lip care products. Can't wait to try more!

What's your fave/holy grail lip balm? x
