Step one of three.

When my sister went to the annual Luxasia SG sale, she got me a number of products. We chat nonstop when she goes to sales like this and she shows me products I might be interested in. And since I'm always up for nail care products, this set was an absolute GO for me.

OPI's The Royal Mani set comes with three nail care products: the Avoplex Exfoliating Cuticle Treatment, the Nail Envy Original Formula, and the Avoplex Cuticle Oil To Go. The products in here are in full size, except for the Cuticle Oil To Go, so this set's a pretty good bargain. It becomes more affordable on warehouse sales but still, this set's a good deal even on its original set price. I've been using the products in this set for a few weeks now so I think it's time to share my thoughts and experiences with these ones in here.

DISCLAIMER: I'm reviewing the products individually. I'm doing this so that you won't read a long ass and so that the reviews are more in-depth and not just an overview. The items can be purchased individually and are not set exclusive; this factored in my decision to write reviews on each product. Hopefully, the reviews can help you decide on whether the products are worth your buck or not. The posts are not, in any way, sponsored by OPI.

The first product in the Royal Mani set is the Avoplex Exfoliating Cuticle Treatment. Avoplex, or Avocado Complex, is OPI's nail care line that has the essence of rich avocado. Their Advanced Avocado Lipid Complex is very skin-friendly as it's packed with ingredients that resemble our skin's natural oils. We know how avocados are packed with goodies that are good for our body and with the Avoplex line, avocados are used to help take care of our skin externally.

The Exfoliating Cuticle Treatment has a blend of alpha hydroxy acids and Avoplex and this combination helps eliminate dry and rough cuticles in the gentlest way. The exfoliation leaves the cuticles softer and smoother while the formula itself replenishes essential moisture and lipids, making this cuticle treatment very safe and effective.

Basically, you use this before putting on any polish. Making sure your cuticles are in check help make your mani last longer, as also mentioned by nail artists and technicians alike.

The product comes in a 30ml squeeze-type bottle, or as I'd like to call it, a baby bottle. It feels pretty light but don't let that fool you; this actually has a decent amount of product that can last you a couple of months. The product itself has a thick lotion-type of consistency and has a very faint smell that I cannot, for the life of me, describe. One thing I know is that it doesn't have a headache-inducing smell so that's pretty good for me. The product feels like Benefit's eye cream for some reason. Looks like it too!

So what I do is I put a small dot on each cuticle area and massage the product until it gets absorbed. Trust me, you don't need too much. After you massage it, you can gently push the cuticles back with an orange or rubber stick. This just makes that task super doable because there's no resistance at all and it just conditions the cuticles, making them less gross and more healthy and nourished. If I were to apply polish, I'd wipe the excess away just the nails aren't too slick or heavy with product.

I like this product mainly because it makes cuticle cleaning easy. It removes the bad stuff without damaging the nail area, and it nourishes and moisturizes the nails naturally with natural ingredients, no bad chemicals and all that. It's also not too messy to use so there's less spillage and product wastage which is always a good thing. So yeah, overall, I like this product!
