Can never have enough undereye correctors, you know?
Apparently it has been two years since I last featured a peach/orange corrector here on the blog so I thought I'd start the new year right with a new one! As someone who has dark circles, peach/orange correctors have been a great help in not only color correcting the darkness but also preventing my undereye concealer from looking gray. However, finding the right shade of an orange corrector is just as important because something that's too deep might look too orange or something too light might highlight instead of correct the darkness. Something that's in-between an orange and a peach works best on my skintone as they can correct the darkness and brighten my undereyes at the same time without looking too orange underneath my concealer. A corrector I've been using since late last year is something like this, which is why it works on me so well. Let me share my thoughts on Careline's Peach Spot Corrector!
When I heard that Careline has spot correctors, I knew I had to try them- or at least one! They have two: Green and Peach, and obviously, I'll be tackling Peach! It is recommended for "neutralizing the pesky blues and purples for a flawless, even-toned base without caking." Both correctors are infused with salicylic acid, Vitamin E, and SPF 20 PA+++.
The Spot Correctors are cruelty and paraben free, and vegan. Each corrector retails for ₱226 for 5.5ml.
It has been a while since I last purchased a base product from Careline so I was pretty impressed at how this corrector's packaging looked! I didn't expect it to look chic! I like the mirror-y silver elements of the tube and I like that it's in a cubed up shape than the usual circular bottle. I like that it's also quite compact so I can pretty much chuck it in any makeup pouch and it'll fit fine.
What makes Peach different from my other correctors is that it really is peachy toned. Peach is lighter and has a stronger pink undertone compared to my other correctors, so in a way, it has a skintone tone to it, if you get what I mean. Here's a side-by-side swatch of Peach with my other two correctors, Issy's Light Peach and The Saem's Peach Beige.
In terms of texture, the Issy corrector is the thinnest and runniest while The Saem's and Careline's have the same standard concealer-like consistency. Both also dry down to a non-drying semi-matte finish while Issy's more dewy.
I'd say Peach has a sheer to medium coverage but you can definitely build it up easily to a full. I did two layers of it to neutralize my dark circles but note that there's still a bit of darkness peeking through. As someone who has lines on their undereyes, I keep products on it to a minimum so I think I'll stick with just two layers. Besides, if you use too much of this corrector, its peachy tones tend to be more pronounced on the skin, which then you'll need to correct with a concealer. Because Peach has a skintone-like shade to it, I can get away with using it on its own plus a yellow-toned setting powder when my skin's lighter but when I'm tanner and need more coverage, I use a skin-match concealer on top.
I like that even though it has a semi-matte finish it doesn't really look and feel dry on the skin, plus it doesn't move around too much especially once you put a concealer on top of it. I've used it with both a synthetic brush and a damp blender sponge- the brush gives you a fuller coverage while the sponge thins out the product, softens it's matte-ness, and produces a skin-like blend.
Overall, Careline's Peach corrector is good for everyday use. On medium skintones, it can neutralize dark areas to a certain extent, feels lightweight, blends out easily, and since it has a semi-matte finish, it can last long on the skin. It layers well with concealers and powders and I haven't experienced it lifting off. If you need something more heavy-duty and more full coverage, this isn't the corrector for you but if you're looking for an easy to use peach-toned corrector than an orange one, then this one's worth checking out.
