Plum kisses.

Hey guys! Hope you're all feeling fine and great! Today I'll be featuring yet another lip product but this time, it's more on the darker, evening-appropriate side. If you like a good dark, sexy hue, keep reading!

So I have here the Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color in 435: Plum Perfect. It's part of the Color Sensational line that offers creamy lippies with long lasting crisp and vibrant colors. They have reds, neutrals, pinks, and purples; Plum Perfect is part of the purple category.

In terms of packaging, Plum Perfect comes in a traditional form, with a purple cap and a silver twist-type tube. I like that the cap shuts securely. At least it won't easily get separated from the tube even when thrown carelessly inside the bag. Packaging's pretty much straightforward and quite chic.

Not gonna lie, I was expecting Plum Perfect to be more on the purple side but judging on this swatch, it's really more of a deep berry red with a purple undertone. The hue is not too bright but also not too dark, perfect for those who want their lippies subdued. If you're looking for a dupe, L'Oreal Color Riche in Intense Plum is a close one, but that one's deeper and has a more prominent purple undertone.

Since this is a creamy lippie, it glided easily and smoothly on my lips. I didn't experience any tugging or skipping and the pigmentation is medium, as you'll need a second layer to really have a solid block of color. It didn't highlight the dry cracks on my lips too much as well.

Due to its color and finish, Plum Perfect is one lippie that requires careful application. You'll definitely need a lip pencil underneath for it to stick to or else it will glide and feather everywhere and you'll need to do the lipstick-blot-lipstick technique if you want it to last. Since it's a creamy traditional lipstick, it will transfer on anything so reapplying is a must. Overall, it's a good lipstick to sport especially on the evenings when you feel all vampy and sexy! I recommend this to everyone who likes affordable hydrating lip products and to those who don't mind doing extra steps to make it last.
