Cheeky Creams: Dazzle Me Heart-Melt Creamy Liquid Blush in Sweet Pink, Cheeky Orange, and Flirty Peach
Baby blushes.
Let's talk liquid blushes!
I always love when I get new cheek products to play with. Like, who am I?? I was never a blush girlie but here I am with a growing blush collection haha! When it comes to blushes, I usually prefer liquids and creams because I find them easier to work with than powder blushes. I love that liquids and creams just blend into the skin seamlessly, like you're just naturally blushing, and I like that you have the option of having a matte or dewy finish. Downside is that you have to set them because they will move if you don't- unless they're the self-setting kind. But that doesn't stop me from wearing them more!
Here I have three more to the add the collection, all from Dazzle Me!
These are the Heart-Melt Creamy Liquid Blushes, blushes with a hybrid formula (they're liquid to cream!) that can be used on the cheeks and eyes. These blushes blend seamlessly because of key ingredients in its formula, such as sweet orange and lemon extract, calendula extract, and chlorella extract.
These blushes are cruelty-, alcohol-, paraben-, and mineral oil- free. Each blush retails for ₱210.
These blushes are so pocket-friendly and cute! Love that they can be easily chucked in your makeup bag without worry. Just like most liquid blushes, the Heart-Melts have a doe-foot applicator.
The Heart-Melt blushes come in three shades:
01 Sweet Pink, a soft pink.
02 Cheeky Orange, a soft coral
03 Flirty Peach, a warm peach.
If there's one thing I immediately noticed with these shades, it's that they have more of a "milky" tone. They're not like the other liquid blushes that are opaque and strong in color- the Heart-Melts have that creamy, pastel-y tone to them that's kind of a sign that they'll be lighter in tone and coverage.
Though Sweet Pink and Cheeky Orange look different from each in swatches, on the cheeks, they look very similar, probably because Cheeky Orange's coral has a strong pink tone to it. Meanwhile, Flirty Peach looks like a combination of the first two and on the cheeks. Yes, it also looks pink on the cheeks but it is warmer than 01 and 02.
Personally, I like Flirty Peach the most on my skintone because I think its warm tone complements it really well. I find Sweet Pink a bit too light on me but I think it'll look great on fairer skintones. Cheeky Orange is an in-between color, something that'll suit fair to medium skintones well. The blushes are quite light in tone and shade so I'm not sure how it will register on deeper skintones but I think 02 and 03 will work.
Now let's talk coverage. The Heart-Melt blushes have a sheer but buildable opacity. One layer is not enough- I find that I need two to three (sometimes four) layers of it to get it to the intensity I want. If you like blushes that give you an opaque color from the get-go, then you'd find blushes "weak". However, if you're a beginner or if you want a blush you can use easily everyday, then you'll probably like these blushes.
When it comes to finish, these blushes are more on the dewy side. I like that once they're blended on the skin, they actually look like skin. They don't cling or highlight dry patches on the skin- they just sit really well on the skin. They're also easier to blend out but they do tend to move more than matte liquid blushes.
Speaking of blending out, I find that these blushes work better when used with a blender or your fingers. I tried using my synthetic blush brush with it but it's just not....giving? Like, I can't explain it but using a brush was just harder. Using a blender was quicker, more even and skin-like.
Lastly, these blushes have a decent staying power. And by decent, I mean around two to three hours (four if you'll push it) without setting it. I know these are marketed as long-staying blushes but they're still creams. And you know what creams do when they're not set? They either more or fade away really quickly. These blushes are not self-setting so please do set them with either a powder blush or a setting powder if you're planning to wear this for several hours and especially if you have an oily skin type.
Personally, I find the Heart-Melt blushes okay. They're creamy and liquidy enough to blend out quickly and easily, and their sheer coverage is really buildable so you get to control how popping you want them to be on the cheeks. I like the dewy/glowy/skin-like finish these blushes have and they're pretty easy to use for both makeup beginners and pros. The shades would suit most skintones though I wish they looked more distinct from each other, you know? Hope they come out with deeper shades in the future- and maybe some browns as well!
