Color Me Delighted with Dazzle Me's Color Chrome Melt to Dew Lip Clicks
What's clickin'?
If there's one thing about the beauty industry, it's that it's always evolving. The difference between the beauty scene now and when I started getting into makeup around fifteen(!!!) years ago is massive and I gotta say, I'm enjoying it! I love that beauty companies are so active in the social media space and that they're constantly developing innovative products that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing/cute and can be enjoyed by all age brackets. What a time to be alive to be honest!
One lip product I'm absolutely loving are melty lipsticks or gloss balms. Nope, they're not just lipsticks in pen-like packaging; they're hybrid (sometimes tribrid) lippies that combine both comfort and coverage. Think: coverage and pigmentation of a lipstick + moisturizing properties of a lip balm + high shine & plumping effect from a lip gloss. That's pretty much the DREAM lippie, especially for someone like me who's prone to having dry and chapped lips. Thankfully, such lip products are available locally, thanks to Dazzle Me!
These are Dazzle Me's Color Chrome Melt to Dew 4-in-1 Lip Clicks, water-glossy lipstick pens that provide up to 16-hour wear, UV protection, and crystal-clear glass lips. These lipstick pens are pretty much 4 products in one- the pens function as a lip balm, lip gloss, lip serum, and lipstick!
The Lip Clicks are beefed up with lip-loving ingredients such as 2% Phyto-Ha Essence which also includes nourishing oils that hydrate and moisturize the lips and Dual Anti-Oxidant Agents that protect the lips from free radicals. These ingredients make the Lip Clicks superb lip balms and serums that help a lot in making sure you have chapped-free and pillow soft lips all day long. Oh, and they also include SPF25+++ for sun protection!
Aside from its moisturizing components, the Lip Clicks also have a Trio-Peptide Plumper that enhances your lips to make it look fuller and juicier, without that oily look!
The Color Chrome Melt to Dew Lip Clicks are alcohol-free and cruelty-free. Each Lip Click retails for ₱147 for 2g of product.
These lip clicks come in a cutesy kind of chunky lavender tube that look really quite eye-catching and youthful, although I have to admit that the overall look may look quite childish to some. I think they kind of give off colored markers/highlighter vibes haha! I like the colorful packaging as it's very on brand for Dazzle Me. Of course, the clicker is on the butt end of each pen, while the cap contains the shade name.
The Color Chrome Melt to Dew Lip Click line comes in 7 impressive, quite diverse shades where 5 of them are full on pigmented and 2 are more on the sheer, kind of PH-changing type. I have to say, I really like the shade range of this line! All are very wearable for any occasion, they suit most, if not all, skintones, and the gloss effect is so beautiful! I'm obsessed!
Here are the 5 pigmented shades:
101 Bunny Tongue (a bubblegum pink)
This shade is one of the best-sellers in this line and I can totally see why! I love how bright and girly this shade is without looking too light or pale on my skintone. It actually reminds me of my MUFE Sassy Rhubarb lippie in terms of usability- a pink lippie I can use anytime, anywhere!
732 Honey Gaze (a soft rosy taupe)
Another best-seller and my go-to non-pink lippie for everyday! Honey Gaze because it's a nice brown with a nice touch of pink in it. It's more on the warmer side of brown but I like how it also brightens my face!
707 Dream High (a maple spice)
Dream High is definitely true to its name: a brown with a nice blend of rust/orange. I can say it's a bolder cousin of Honey Gaze!
019 Cherry Bomb (a muted cherry)
Cherry Bomb is actually a nice surprise! I actually thought it'd be a bright red apple shade but when I tried it on, it's more of a muted salmon red blend on me. It's a nice red without being too proper red, you know?
008 Popular (a berry blush)
Lastly, we have my fave shade to use from this line when I want a bright, bold lip! Popular is the shade to wear if you want all the attention to your lips- I mean, look at that shade! It's a nice medium pinkberry shade that looks sooo good on the lips. It actually reminds me of Rimmel's Rad Liquid Lipstick, only Popular is brighter and lighter in tone. (Also, I'd like to note that this shade looks a bit darker IRL.)
Now here are the 2 sheer shades:
821 Star World (a sheer plum glow)
Star World is probably my least used and least fave shade in this line. Yes, it starts off sheer and glossy but for some reason, the longer it stays on my lips, the brighter and pinker it gets! It's the kind of pink that looks like it's from a Ph-dependent product and I gotta say, I'm not the biggest fan of that shade of pink. I'm not fond of how it looks on my pigmented lips so as much as possible, I try not to use this product. Will probably pass this off to someone whose lips are lighter and less two-toned!
096 Shining Muscat (a sheer rose glow)
This shade, however, is my favorite sheer shade! Shining Muscat has been living in my bag ever since I got it because it's the perfect product to have in your bag. I love that it gives my lips a hint of pink, the natural looking kind and not the stark kind. The gloss definitely plumps my lips and gives the overall look just nicer and better. It's kind of like if the Wonderfullip Lip Serum is in solid form haha! This shade is officially christened as my out and about lip balm/lipstick! I seriously can't leave the house without it!
These Lip Clicks are my intro to melty lip products and I gotta say, they did NOT disappoint! These are the type of lippies I'm into now: moisturizing and glossy but loaded with pigment that look and hold really well on my pigmented/two toned lips. My lips nowadays rely heavily on lip balms so it's nice to finally have a lip balm/lipstick-adjacent product in my stash that makes me look more presentable but doesn't feel drying on the lips. If you're a chapped lips prone girlie, this line is definitely made for us!
It goes without saying that these products aren't smudge and budge-proof, considering their finish. It will help a bit with a lip liner beneath but still, reapplying is a must. They do stain a little bit but don't expect the same effect as a proper lip stain (like the Ink Gloss line). The Color Chrome Melt to Dew Lip Clicks are more for comfort and gloss and less on longevity. I personally don't mind since I'm used to blotting and reapplying my lippies, plus I'd take hydration over longevity every time.
Although these are melty lip products, I'm happy to report that none of them melted out of their tubes. I've seen videos of creators complaining that their melty lippies melted but I experienced none of the sort of the Lip Clicks. The only time I feel like they're too melty is when I use them. There are some shades that are meltier that the others, while some are harder and less prone to melting. But again, they don't melt out of the packaging.
Speaking of using them, a bit of restraint is needed when applying the Lip Clicks. As they have melty formulas, you need to make sure you don't over apply them or else you'd end up with product outside your lip lines- even on your teeth! I swear there were times I looked like a proper clown because I over applied them haha! You don't need to apply a ton of the product because they are already pigmented and easy to spread around. I like swiping a light layer of the product on my lips, spread them around, then add on if needed. I find that this technique helps lessen the mess but still gives me a nice coverage of product on the lips.
Overall, the Color Chrome Melt to Dew Lip Clicks are a hit in my book! I love how affordable they are but didn't skimp on being comfortable and hydrating on the lips whilst also being pigmented and glossy. Also, love how they make my lips plump without the sting! If I were to change anything, I'd say I wish the pens are retractable. The clicker is fun to use and all but if you have too much fun clicking it, you can't put the product back anymore which is a bummer! But that's the only thing I'd change. Also, I really hope they come out with darker shades in the future. Can you imagine a glossy vampy dark red?? That would be so DIVINE!
