A Few Shades Deeper with Issy True Flex Adjuster in Deep

From light to medium-dark!

If you haven't noticed, Issy have been releasing great complexion products as of late but I won't be featuring any of that today.  Instead, let me just quickly talk about a product of theirs that may or may not have been discontinued and I'm embarrassed it took me this long to feature it here on the blog. This is sort of a follow up to the shade adjuster I've featured back in February, because if there's light, there's also dark. Well, in this case, deep!

To jog everyone's memory, Issy's True Flex Adjusters are mixing pigments you use to adjust and customize any liquid or cream products' color temperature and depth. These products are a cost-effective and sustainable solution to expand the range and sustainability of the products, specifically creams and liquids, that are already available in your makeup stash.

The Adjusters are formulated with Vitamins A, C, and E (known for their anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties), purslane extract (an extract containing glutathione), and aloe leaf juice (known for its calming and soothing benefits).

The True Flex Adjusters are vegan, cruelty- and fragrance-free, and non-comedogenic. Each 15ml tube retails for ₱349.

The True Flex Adjusters come in 6 shades and I've already featured White, my go-to adjuster for lightening shades that are too dark or deep on me. Today, I'll be featuring Deep, a milk chocolate shade adjuster that helps in adding depth to any shade.

Texture-wise, it's the same as the White adjuster and even their Light Peach Color Corrector- thin and very runny with a dewy finish. Again, it's the type of formula that can go everywhere if you're not careful with it so I recommend using a mixing palette so they're easy to use. Having said that, its thin consistency makes it easy to blend with any liquid and cream bases. It doesn't separate and like promised, it doesn't really change your bases' finish that much. Of course if you mix it with a super matte base, the adjuster might add a bit of dewiness to it (which I don't mind much tbh) so if that doesn't sit well with you, better stick to pairing the Adjusters to dewy/glowy products.

Not gonna lie, I was a bit confused between Deep and Dark. They're both browns so I thought either would be good to darken my liquid bases. I got Deep because it looked less intimidating and more controllable than Dark but I gotta admit, Deep can only darken shade to an extent. I tried using it to darken my Vice Co Dream Focus Foundation in Light Medium Neutral to a Medium Tan but I noticed that the more I add Deep to it, the more it looked muddy. On the other hand, when I used it on a light medium concealer shade, I was able to get to a medium shade easily. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Deep can only darken two to three shades max before it starts looking weird and muddy.

I am just super happy that I have Deep in my stash because it's a huge help with shade matching, especially when I choose a shade that's a bit light on me and on other people. Having these shade adjusters help me not get too stressed when choosing my shade online because with just a few drops I can easily get to my closest shade match without wasting said product and prevents me from buying another shade that may or may not match me accurately. Honestly, me and my bank account loves these shade adjusters so much because of all the minimal spending I've been doing with bases haha! Now if they would only release something similar with powders...that'd be great!
