Shash Stash

In a few hours, it'll be 2013 already so here I am squeezing this last post for 2012. Here's my last book haul for this year.
The first book that I go was the last book of the Blue Bloods series, Gates of Paradise. I've been waiting for this and I'm excited to finally read it! If you're looking for a good YA series to read, I recommend Blue Bloods. If you do read it, who's your favorite character? :)
The next book I got was Chris Colfer's Struck by Lightning. At first I was a bit hesitant to get it but my sister insisted so I caved in and picked it up. Now I'm glad I got it because it does seem pretty interesting. I love my YA books, don't get me wrong, but sometimes it's nice to read non-YA books sometimes (my favorite so far is Dash and Lily's Book of Dares). I also want to watch the movie adaptation, I'm just waiting for it.
The last book I got was Melissa Marr's Carnival of Souls. Not gonna lie, I was attracted to this book because of the title. What convinced me more to try it was the summary at the back of the book. It seems dark and mysterious and enchanting. Seriously can't wait to read it too. This is the first book of Melissa Marr that I'll be reading so I kinda have high hopes for it.
I also got my magazines! My favorites are L'Officiel, Style, and Elle. In that order.
Hope you all have a fun and safe New Year celebration whether at home or out! See you in 2013! xx

Last December 23rd, my family and I went to Skinny Pizza (Plaza Singapura branch) to have our afternoon snack which was just after Hugo's baby spa session. I know this is 6 days late but I'm posting it anyway because I sorta kinda need to fill my blog every now and then...and I want to make everyone who stops by hungry. :P

 Squid Ink (S$25)
 Bolognese with Mozzarella Pizza (S$24)
Smoked Turkey Swiss (S$25)
Skinny Pizza IS skinny. Not thin crust skinny but potato chip skinny! It's definitely something unusual but worth trying. My favorite is the Bolognese with Mozzarella primarily because of the blocks of cheese but the sauce is yummy too. I also enjoyed the Smoked Turkey which oddly had blueberries but it definitely worked well with the turkey. The Squid Ink is also good, best for those who love seafood.

If you're craving for pizza but don't want the feeling of fullness, I say Skinny Pizza's the answer. It's satisfying and very much on the healthier side. But knowing me, I still want the grease and fat and oozing cheese on my pizza. PS. Thick crust forever.

Let me begin this post by greeting everyone a Merry Christmas!! It's been pretty awesome so far, celebrating it with my family here in Singapore. Funny because we were so tired from the Christmas mass & dinner we attended last night so no more midnight celebration! Anyway, we opened gifts this morning which was fun because my adorable 5 month-old nephew, Hugo, helped in opening his gifts by tearing the wrappers.

Here's one present that I totally loved: Urban Decay's Smoked palette! My sister gave this to me and I am sooooo happy! Out of all the palettes UD released this year, this appealed to me the most (and Naked Basics; I'm still waiting for that one to be released here in SG.) Ahh, so happy! To receive something included in my wishlist was lovely. Thank you, Ate!!
Inside the box: UD Primer Potion (in a squeeze tube!), Smoked Look Book, and the palette itself.
Inside the palette: 10 shadows (4 mattes, 6 shimmers) and 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion (which is better than Zero, in my opinion.)
I seriously can't wait to play with these shadows! I'm thrilled to have additional mattes in my collection since I depend mostly on Naked and Buck. Blackout is such a gorgeous pigmented matte black shadow. I love! Oh gosh, I could go on all day...

'Tis the season to be jolly indeed! Spread the love! xx
Yesterday, I dropped by Suesh's showroom in Greenhills to buy beauty blenders. While browsing the shop, I found lipsticks on sale. When I opened the sample tube of Queen of the Night, I fell in love. I'm currently in love with dark lippies so of course I was thrilled to see one...and a sale at that! It's also my first time to try Suesh's own lipstick line so I bought this along with my beauty blenders (also on sale!).
On the tube, Queen of the Night looks like a dark plum color. On the lips, it's 50% dark red and 50% plum. My favorite lipstick, Elizabeth Arden's Cranberry Cream, is redder compared to Queen of the Night. It glides easily and it's not drying. It does fade easily though, and it took me several swipes for it to be opaque.
(Blotted once then reapplied. No lip liner used.)

I bought this for only 100php because Suesh is currently having their holiday sale. There are other shades too, from pink to reds to glitter. Visit the Suesh Facebook page for updates and more info about their holiday sale.
Because everyone's saying it today...

Happy 12.12.12!
I've been wanting to do a post about this but I always forget to take photos of this lovely gloss. Apologies.

Anyway, my sister gave me this gloss last August if I remember correctly and I've been using it ever since. I use it on its own or on top of a lip color. What I like about this gloss is that it's not overly sticky. I absolutely HATE sticky glosses. Like seriously, sticky glosses should be banned forever. This gloss is not overly opaque either, so if you're looking for an opaque lip gloss, this is not for you. However, this is perfect as a top coat on a lip color. If you apply this on top of a nude lippie, this gloss' color will pop more. On a pink, it will create a pink/orange,/coral effect. I love using this on a bright red color. The apricot color vanishes, making the red lipstick pop more, only this time your lip color is shinier with hints of glitter.
I don't use the wand though. I don't use it directly on my lips or on other people's lips. I use the wand as a gloss "serving spoon", or wand in this case. I swipe the product picked up by the wand at the back of my hand then I use a lip brush to apply the gloss on the lips.
Lip gloss is one of your best friends this holiday season. You want to use something that you're okay to disappear when you're eating and drinking. You want to use something that can be easily reapplied, and of course something comfortable to wear but still gives your lips an oomph. What's your favorite lip gloss? xx

This is my most favorite and most used makeup remover. If you have sensitive eyes, don't want that burning sensation, a fan of waterproof mascara/eyeliner, this remover is for you. Seriously, I can't do a makeup session without it. It does its job well- remove stubborn waterproof makeup without burning my eyes and erase makeup boo boos. Plus I don't have to do a lot of tugging and wiping.

Here's a little test gallery:
In just one swipe, it removed the eye shadows on my lid, my under eye concealer, the first layer of my mascara and eyeliner. I only used 4-5 cotton pads to remove all my eye makeup. Amazing huh? So if you're looking for a nice makeup remover to try, I really recommend getting this one. xx
Ahh, can't believe it's already December! I can feel the Christmas spirit already. I'm already seeing Christmas lights and lanterns and trees everywhere, I love it. Also, it's this month that's always okay to buy things to give or to keep or to wish for. And since wishlists are "in" this month, here's mine, beauty edition. ;)

Storylook Eyeshadow Palette & Moonlit Kiss Lipstick Set (Disney Cinderella Collection by Sephora)

Seriously, how lovely is this collection? I totally love the palette. It has a nice mix of neutral and colorful shadows, of mattes, shimmers, and glitter. And look at the cover of the palette. Just look at it. It feels magical enough for you to pick it and not care about what's inside. :))

I also like the lipstick set mainly for the darkest lipstick, Lady Tremaine. Really apt for this time of year. The other three colors are nice too, it's just that I'm currently obsessed with dark lippies. Speaking of which...

MAC Smoked Purple, OCC Black Dahlia, Make Up Store Black Orchid, Make Up Store Havana, and MAC Prince Noir
These are just some of the dark lippies I have on my list (yes, I have a list). I love dark lipsticks and lip liners. You can't really go wrong with these compared to reds and pinks. Dark lip colors add mystery and toughness. And you gotta admit, these make you feel like very Morticia Addams.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
When I first saw this, my first thought was "I have to have this. Now." I'm a big fan of the Naked palette but it lacked on the matte department though Naked and Buck are really amazing matte shadows. In this palette, you get six matte shadows. Honestly, it's a dream come true. Excellent matte shadows for blending purposes...ahh!! And I'm pretty excited for the blackest shadow too. <3

MAC 217, 224, 266
These are the top three MAC brushes I'm dying to have, especially the 217! My sister owns a 217 and a 224 and it was a joy to work with these brushes. I'd also like to own a 266 because the slanted brushes I own are a bit soft and wide.

Urban Decay Smoked Palette
Another Urban Decay palette I want is the Smoked palette. Definitely not for the neutral shadow lovers out there but I think this deserves a chance. I really like the fact that this palette comes with an eye pencil, a primer potion, AND look charts. The palette casing looks sturdy too, don't you think? The shadow that I most love in this palette is Mushroom. Such a gorgeous shadow. :)

And that ends my wishlist in beauty! I was surprised to see a few items here considering that I was lusting over different products these past few months. I promise to be a good girl, Santa, just give me these!! :))
