When I got the BeautyBook bag last month, the Matted palette by Nichido was probably the beauty product that made me excited the most. I always see this palette whenever I pass by beauty sections in department stores and I've always been curious about it so I was really glad to finally have it! I played with it as soon as I can and here's what I think about it.

 So guess who watched Divergent already? ME ME ME! :D I was so excited to see how the movie adaptation was like. The Divergent trilogy is one of the YA books out there that you definitely have to read because if you aren't, you're missing out big time. When I finished the books, I decided to do a look inspired by one of my favorite factions, Dauntless. The members of the faction, in terms of appearance, always wore black clothing, have numerous tattoos, and girls wore dark liner. Sort of badass/punk, don't you think? So that's where I got my inspiration for this look. If I were a member of Dauntless, what kind of eye makeup would I wear? And then it dawned on me: winged liner. But not my everyday one; I want something bolder. And that's exactly what I did.  A bold one but nothing too extreme. And for extra oomph, I decided to add some dark stones on the corner of my eyes. Kind of hard to see but they're there. And tada! Here's my look.

Happy Monday! I realized I don't play with coppers and bronzes that much anymore so here's a look featuring those colors. I'd describe this as a metallic earthy look or even a spiced up neutral look. No crazy colors this time although I'm thinking of doing another non-neutral look soon to match the present season. But yeah, this is today's eotd! :)

 Orange you glad I'm reviewing this one? Cause I am. Come to think of it, I don't have an orange eyeliner in my kit and I never had one until I got it. I have the basic ones; blue, violet, green, silver, gold but not orange. So I thought, hey, I don't have that! I gotta have it!

 We Found Nemo! stood out from the other pencils because of its lovely bright clownfish-coralish orange hue. Also, what a cute name for a kohl, amiright? I also like that it's not a twist-type pencil because those pencils just kill me. This is a sturdy one which I really like. Because it's a kohl, it smudges easily which is perfect if you use it as a base. In my swatch photo, you can see two swatches. One's more opaque than the other, right? Well that's because I did a little trick most makeup artists/enthusiasts do with kohls: heating it up. All you need to do is light a candle up (you can also use a lighter) and heat up the tip of the pencil for a second. Literally a second, okay? You don't want to burn the pencil, you just want to melt the cream a little bit. Wait for it to cool down a bit, but not completely, and use it. It just makes a big difference! So yeah, obviously, the right swatch is the heated one and the left is the unheated one. Either way, I absolutely love it. The pencil, heated or not, glides on smoothly, is not scratchy, and is quite creamy. This is really good for something that's quite cheap!

As for the downside, I could name two. First, it's not waterproof (but then again not all kohls are waterproof). Second, because it's not waterproof it doesn't stay that long on the waterline. Other than that, this pencil's good and it's perfect for spring and summer! Bring on that pop of color!

 Confession: this isn't really NOTW, it should be NOLW aka Nail of Last Week! I totally forgot to post this but since I have a pic of my nails in my Instagram, I might as well do a post about it anyway. Instead of trying out a new polish, I decided to use what's already opened. Initially, I was just going to wear Deep in Her Eyes, a gorgeous blue-violet Sephora polish, on its own but since it became so gloopy and thick, it ended up being a big disaster on my nails. So to cover the horrible mess, I used a loved but forgotten polish of mine: OPI's Black Shatter. I remember being gaga over it because I loved the texture and effect it gives. It's so cool and punk and interesting all at the same time. It somehow made my nails look cooler and neater, and I absolutely love the color combo. Using the shatter last week made me fall in love with it again and it'll definitely be used more often now. So I guess you could say I'm bringing shatter back. ;)

 Heyaaa! For the first EOTD this month, I decided to do something colorful and light. Yes, I just ditched my brown and black liners! :)) I figured since summer is starting, I better do something fun and different. I remembered I had some unfinished business with my new orange liner so I decided to use it for today's look. Alongside my orange liner are the two NYX pink shadows (for the Makeup Artist palette) I used on my lid. Pink always goes well with orange and pink just screams fun to me which I think is pretty apt for this season. Since the pink shadows are quite matte (well, satin really), I decided to pat a little bit of glittery pigment on the center of the lid so that the looks isn't so flat and boring. And since I can't function without a bit of brown shadow, I decided to use it lightly to give dimension to my crease...and to blend out the pink shadows I used as well. :)
