Day sixteen.

DAY SIXTEEN: PARIS

Ahhh bonjour, Paris! I can't tell you how much excitement I felt on the way to Paris because hello, it's the City of Love! I only saw Paris through Damon Dominique and The Purple Palace (and of course, some fictional version of Paris in tv shows and movies) so to be actually there in person was quite surreal. As you saw on my last post, we took the train to Paris from Lourdes which took about 4 hours, more or less. Here's a pic of us on the train before departing:

From the train station, we boarded our bus and went to our hotel to get settled and freshen up. Quick OOTD selfie before the tour!

Our first activity in Paris was a boat tour on the River Seine. And of course, I had to take photos of the Eiffel Tower which can pretty much be seen quickly!

Obligatory Eiffel Tower tourist pics. Hahaha!

The boat tour around the River Seine was pretty great. It was a guided tour but the audio was pretty inaudible which was a bummer but the sightseeing was still great. I can't give any specific infos about the places and landmarks I saw, so please just enjoy the photos I took. :)

As we all know, the Notre Dame Cathedral caught fire last year that caused massage damage to the cathedral. The Paris leg of our tour happened a week or two after the fire so of course, we weren't able to visit the cathedral. We could only look at it from a distance, damages and all.

(Edit: Thankfully, the Notre Dame is already in better shape now in 2020!)

The Notre-Dame de Paris was constructed in 1160 and completed by 1260. It was built with a French Gothic architecture. The cathedral is located on Île de la Cité in the 4th arrondissement of Paris. The cathedral was used as the coronation site of Napoleon I, as well as the funeral site of many French presidents.

Onto the rest of the tour!

A few group photos! (Grabbed from tourmates & dad lol)

After the tour, we went to a resto to have dinner. I honestly forgot the name of the resto but I won't ever forget their scrumptious escargot with such buttery pesto! So good!
Also pictured: a pasta dish with chunks of meat and mushrooms and a very lovely choco lava cake.

Paris day one done! Paris is such a metropolitan city and I loved seeing these gorgeous architecture scattered throughout the city. Can't wait to see some more.

Next stop: Lisieux!
