Sampling Samples: Belif UV Protector Daily Sunscreen Gel
For those harmful rays.
If there's one thing I did right, it's bringing sunscreen to my short trip to Thailand because boy, Thailand's sun is definitely not playing around. I mean, I was born and raised in a tropical country but I was not ready for Thailand's blazing sun. So friendly note, bring sunscreen pretty much everywhere because you'll never know.
I'm not the biggest user of sunscreen/sunblocks because let's be honest here, they're damn uncomfortable, not to mention, I feel like they make me feel extra sweaty and hot. I've always been on the hunt for a lightweight sunscreen, even just for the face and neck, you know? I reviewed an Innisfree sunscreen before and in all fairness, it was great but I feel like it caters more to those with oily skin because the finish is too matte and won't really pair well with those with dry skin or at least for those with dry patches problems.
Today I'll be reviewing a sunscreen that I tested in Thailand and one I absolutely liked: Belif's UV Protector Daily Sunscreen Gel.
According to its product description in the Belif's site,"UV Protector Daily sunscreen gel is for a daily use with a light and fresh touch like moisturizing essence. The gel-type sunblock protects your skin from UV rays and gives a whitening effect and glow on your face." The site also states that this product has none of the following: mineral oil, synthetic fragrances, synthetic colors, synthetic preservatives, and animal-derived ingredients.
I know they say it's a gel but its texture is nowhere gel-like. This sunscreen has thin milky texture that glides easily all over the skin. I guess what I like the most about it is that it doesn't have a matte finish when it dries down. It goes a bit tacky on the skin when it dries but it doesn't feel stiff on the skin; it feels hydrating and leaves the skin feeling well moisturized. This sunscreen really did well with my dry patches as it didn't highlight it but instead, it kept them hydrated enough for them not to show up too much. It felt really comfortable on the skin and, most important of all, didn't get me too sweaty and hot. Since it's still sunscreen, I still felt that sweaty and hot feeling upon application but after it gets absorbed, it felt like a normal moisturizer with sunscreen. Absolutely fantastic.
It definitely held up well as I felt like it was still there after hours of sweating under Thailand's sun. It didn't break me out too and didn't sting when I applied it. Its scent has a slight whiff of sunscreen with a blend of something herbal- can't tell what- but it's not an unpleasant smell. If you have dry skin, I cannot recommend this product enough. It works great because it will just moisturize the hell out of your skin- perfect if you're in a humid setting. Oily skinned peeps should probably pass this up and should probably give Innisfree's sunscreen a try instead. I'm so glad my sister gave me some samples to try because this sunscreen is a lifesaver, or rather: a skinsaver. Guess I finally found something that'll have me use sunscreen more often!
