Last Year's Europe Trip: Monaco
Day six.
DAY SIX: MONACO
From Pisa, we embarked on a journey to Monaco, one place I've been looking forward to the most! I've seen bits of Monaco from movies and tv shows so it was pretty exciting to actually see the place in person. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect or to look for so I pretty much had an open mind and a giddy excitement on the way to Monaco.
Before that, lemme share some on the way/on the road photos during our (more or less) 8-hour bus ride:
During one of our bus stops, we had a quick lunch:
Mom had some kind of pork sausage and potatoes.
Dad had salmon with veggies and coffee.
I had potatoes and a chicken schnitzel and of course, the mandatory pie slice (this one's either lemon or peach.)
Almost there! The Mediterranean Sea looking magnificent and vivid:
First order of business: visit Cathédrale de Notre-Dame-Immaculée or Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate, Monaco's sole cathedral. It was built between 1875-1903 and it is also where most of the members of the House of Grimaldi are buried.

And the tour continues! For reference, we were in Monaco City or Monaco-Ville. one of the 4 quarters of Monaco.

A prominent landmark here in in Monaco-Ville is the Prince's Palace of Monaco, the official of residence of the Sovereign Prince..

There's a garden/park on the east side of the square with the stunning view of the Mediterranean Sea and opulence- hello, Monte Carlo!

Another landmark here in Monaco-Ville is the Musée océanographique or the Oceanographic Museum. If we had a bit of free time, I'd most likely go in and check it out.
And this is my last photo in Monaco, my reminder that I did step in Grand Prix-land. Granted the event was in Monte Carlo but it was still in the same country, right? (Congrats, Lewis Hamilton!)
And that's Monaco. Yes, I'd like to visit it again; no, I probably won't go into the casinos, haha! I'd like to see Monte Carlo, though. In that short while, I loved walking around Monaco-Ville because it felt old school yet quirky and quaint and all around lovely.
Next stop: Nice!
