#TakeTheTint With Colourette Mini Colourtint in Zola
Z for Zola.
(Click here for Tati, Ocean, Ellie, and Coco)
Last Colourtint I'll be featuring this month is one of Colourette's bestsellers and yes, it is a semi-bright shade. Just like with Tati, this is a shade I won't usually for instantly but upon trying, I'm so glad I went out of my comfort zone. I mean, I LOVED Tati and that's even brighter than this one so I think it's a given that I'll also like this one.
Zola is described as a universally flattering terracotta. The word terracotta translates to baked/cooked earth (terra = earth, cotta = baked/cooked) and it is a clay-based ceramic. As a color, terracotta is usually a brownish orange shade. Zola's shade, I think, is way prettier than a brownish orange. Zola is more of a peachy orange, with a subtle undertone of pink. Definitely more flattering than a simple brown orange! Formula-wise, it's just like Tati and Ellie: creamy and has an opaque payoff.
On my lips, Zola is predominantly a peach orange. I don't usually go for oranges (also sidenote: not a big fan of red oranges too!) but this one has a girly bright look to it that I can't resist. A lovely everyday lippie shade too, and a great substitute for the usual nudes and pinks.
Zola is a pretty pigmented gal so use it little by little on the cheeks! Like damn girl, tone down a little haha! On me, Zola looks like a pinkish blush with a strong orange hue to it. It's pretty but I find it a little loud and bright on me haha!
Zola on the eyes is a pretty one! It's a color that's bright but not overly so and I just know that it'll be great when layered with a nice satin finish eyeshadow! I was thinking maybe with The Face Shop 0R202 eyeshadow for a full-on peach eye or maybe Zola as a base then The Face Shop Sky Fever gel liner as a liner for a little bright and festival-y look. Cute!
Now I understand why Zola's such a big hit! It's a color that's done right and yes, I do agree that it's a universally flattering shade. I still have to have some courage to wear it on my cheeks (honestly, I can't go beyond Ocean yet) but I think I'll vibe with it more during the summer when it's bright and sunny. On the lips and eyes, I'm 100% sold haha!
And that wraps up my weekly mini Colourtint features and the last beauty review of 2021! I still have a couple of minis left like Jordyn, Ginger, and Olive (and Emma and Ava if I manage to get them) but I think I'll save them for later. For now, I'll enjoy the ones I have featured- especially Ocean and Ellie!
See you in 2022!
