Sampling Samples: Yves Rocher Riche Crème Intensive Regenerating Care
Intense cream part deux.
Aaaand I'm back with yet another skincare product review! Sorry, I just can't help it. Not gonna lie, it seems that all I'm into right now are skincare and lippies. Well, sorry not sorry.
I'm at that point in my life where skincare trumps makeup, specifically foundations. I'm someone who prefers my skin bare most of the time so I just try to make sure it's in good condition at all times. My main skin problem is my dry, rough patches on my cheekbones (I know, of all places, right?), plus the occasional breakouts during period season. The breakouts I can handle, but these dry patches? They're a freaking nightmare and they prevent me from wearing powdered bases. So annoying.
Last week, I shared a sample product that's really good and absolutely helped with my dry patches. Now I'm testing a new moisturizer, one that's not necessarily for dry patches but still helps in getting them under control.
The Yves Rocher Riche Crème Intense Regenerating Care is a skincare product that's mainly for anti-aging and is recommended for those who are 55 years old and above. I know what you're thinking: why the hell is a 25-year old using this? Well, let's just say my desperation and curiosity know no bounds. Plus, anything for the blog, right? :P
According to the product description, the Intense Regenerating Care is an all-in-one day and night anti-aging moisturiser that combines 30 precious oils – each selected for its excellence in providing skin with the ultimate nutrition, replenishment and active anti-wrinkle treatment. This anti-aging cream will nourish the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and since it's rich in active anti-aging essentials, it will give the skin the nutrition and the ultimate renewal it needs. The skin, now perfectly hydrated and newly replenished, will feel soft and smooth.
Apparently, if you use it consistently, it will smooth wrinkles, make the skin soft to the touch, and in a month, your skin will appear more nourished and regenerated. Now, I don't know about the wrinkle claim so I think I'll just focus on its hydrating/moisturizing properties.
In comparison to the other moisturizers I use/d, this product feels a tiiiiiny bit thicker, like a heavy-duty product, you know? It's not a thick as, say, face masks, but it's quite hefty when compared to day moisturizers. Personally, I feel like this product should be used as a night moisturizer, based on its consistency. On the skin, as expected, it feels quite thick. You can really feel the product sitting on your skin. It feels a bit warm too, hence my opinion about it being used at night. Unlike the Oils of Life Sleeping Cream, this one isn't as sticky but it seems like it doesn't dry down completely. Even after 30 minutes after application, my face still feels "wet" and I can still literally feel the product and even massage it around. A bit odd but okay.
I must admit that this product makes my skin feel soft and nourished. My skin feels very moisturized and even my dry patches feel less rough and parched. Its moisturizing power is really good and I also noticed how my skin looks healthier and brighter, even just after 3 nights. So I guess that claim is legit, well, at least for me. Again, I can't comment on the wrinkle claim; maybe I'll just update you after 30 years?
Overall, this product has some pros and cons for me.
Pros:
-very moisturzing and nourishing
-didn't cause any breakouts
-didn't feel painful on the skin
-helped in taming down my dry patches
Cons:
-doesn't fully dry (so in turn, it will be all over the pillowcases if you use it at night)
-feels warm and a bit heavy on the skin
I can't deny that this is a good product. It made my skin soft to the touch and really moisturized the heck out of it. However, I don't think I can use it as a day moisturizer or under foundation. It's slick and slippery and it will just around whatever base I put on top. Better for night use for sure. The 7ml sample I have will probably last me 4-6 nights (I'm on my 3rd night now) because I little goes a long way. Happy I'll get to enjoy it for a few nights more because the full-sized jar (75ml) is quite a pricey one (plus I don't know where to find it here in the PH). This is the first time I get to try skincare from Yves Rocher and I'm glad it's a pretty damn good one. Hope I get to try out more from them in the future!
