Nighttime skincare.

As far as skin types go, I consider myself a normal/oily kinda gal. You know, the usual: normal on all parts of the face except the T-zone. My oiliness isn't that extreme on the T-zone (nothing a sheet of blotting can't fix) but I still make sure to powder that area more. But lately, my T-zone isn't my problem; it's my dry patches, and here's the kicker, on my cheekbone areas. Yes, the same area where highlighter is usually applied. And while I'm not all about that highlighter life, the fact that I have dry patches on my skin irritates me.

On times like this, I usually go for moisturizers that are heavy and dense. I first used my Payot Hydra 24+ Creme Glacee to help lessen the dryness of those areas but it seems like it's no match. Thankfully, I dug through my sample stash and found this.

I decided to give The Body Shop's Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Sleeping Cream a go, mainly because of two words: Intensely Revitalising. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, right? At this point, I'm game for anything that can help with my dry patches.

On the TBS site, product description goes: "A night time cream to deeply nourish, visibly revitalise and intensely firm while you sleep. We searched the world and selected 3 Precious Seed Oils known for their revitalising and repairing properties. By infusing them with 7 Powerful Essential Oils, into a refreshing yet cushiony cream, we've created an Intensely Revitalising Sleeping Cream that replenishes like a dream (almost). "

This product is enriched with amazing oils, the main ones are: black cumin oil (known for its antioxidants and concentration), rosehip oil (rich in Omega 3 & 6), & camellia oil (rich in oleic acid). Other oils included are lavender oil, rosemary leaf oil, geranium oil, Roman camomile oil, marjoram leaf oil, and orange peel oil. The Roman camomile oil & lavender oil both have calming properties; the rosemary leaf oil improves skintone; the orange peel oil revitalizes the skin; & the geranium oil helps make the skin radiant. Blend everything together and you have your answer to your dry skin problems.

The product looks and feels like your standard moisturizer. It's cream-colored and has a texture that's neither too thick/gloopy nor thin/runny. Compared to the Creme Glacee, the Sleeping Cream feels thinner. But despite it being loaded with oils, it surprisingly doesn't feel greasy on the skin. It also has a flowery/spicy-ish scent, thanks to the blend of floral notes from lavender, geranium, camomile, rosehip, and camellia and the spicy tone of the marjoram leaf oil (and I think the black cumin contributed too). Definitely a nice contrast to Creme Glacee's fruity scent.

Application was pretty simple and the product wasn't hard to work into the skin. I noticed that this cream has a tackiness to it, specially when it's drying down, no doubt it's because of the glycerin in it, which is the second highest ingredient of this product. The tackiness goes away eventually but it made me wonder if this can double as a face primer too. (Sorry, no, I didn't test this.)

Morning after, I noticed that my skin, specifically my dry patches, improved. The dry patches don't feel too rough to the touch anymore, making them feel a bit more like textured skin instead of rough dry patches. The normal skin feels smooth and soft, like nicely prepped skin. Absolutely insane. You've no idea how happy that made me. I also didn't experience any breakout afterward, although I briefly felt prick-like pain when I applied it to my dry patches the first time I used it. The second and third time was painless, though so at least I know this product is A-okay on my skin.

Overall, I love this product. It works great on dry patches and it did deliver on its claims. I recommend this for those with dry skin and for those who are dealing with dry, rough patches like me. This 1.4g of sample lasted me 3 nights so just imagine how long the full-sized one (g) would last. Definitely a great skincare product to try out.
