The Fresh Matte: L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation in 107 Fresh Beige
Spectacular finish.
Happy last Saturday of 2019! Hope you're having a chill day before all the NY madness begins. Also, thanks for dropping by. :)
To end 2019 on a good note, here's my last beauty post for this year. I can't wait for 2020 to post this- I need to get it up now because this product's probably one of the best that I've used this year. Yes, I'm kinda late to the party but I'm here nonetheless. I'm talking about the L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation.
If you've been a reader for quite some time, you know I'm not a big base wearer, especially for everyday. I like letting my skin breathe and I'm bigger on skincare than base makeup. However, there are days when I need that extra boost of confidence and occasions where I need to look more presentable- these are the days when I bust out my small collection of bases. This December, I attended my cousin's wedding and I thought it was the perfect time to get reconnected with dear old Pro-Matte.
Here's a little product description from the L'Oreal site:
"Up to 24hr matte without the flat. Air-light texture, Demi-matte finish.
Achieve a matte finish that won’t fall flat with this air-light, longwearing liquid formula. Lightweight and creamy, foundation goes on smooth with a demi-matte finish that lasts up to 24 hours—hiding imperfections for a smooth, clear complexion."
There are 22 shades available in the site and I gotta say, I absolutely love that! The shade range has a blend of warm, neutral, and cool tones, and the range covers light, dark, and everything in between skintones. Love it!
The shade I have is 107 Fresh Beige, which leans more warm/yellow-toned. Although upon looking at the shades, I think I can also work with 106 Sun Beige.
Formula is light and thin and can be easily blended out. When I first tried it out, I was surprised at the outcome because it was so beautiful on the skin! It dries down to a matte but it still has that dewy feel on the skin without the shine and the tackiness. I feel like my skin can still breathe because it works wonderfully even when applied thinly! So yes, demi-matte is a very accurate description to this foundation. I find that blending it out with a damp sponge gives the best result, even, smooth all over and very natural-looking, plus it prevents you from building it up too much. This foundation also has a medium coverage, which is what I prefer when it comes to my bases.
If I were to use this in places that aren't in the tropics, places that aren't hot and humid, I can definitely get away without setting it because it already feels set on its own. However, since I do live in a tropical country, setting any base is a must. But I feel like with this one, you only need a light dusting of powder. No need to bake it at all, except maybe if you're really oily on the T-zone. Other that that, light powdering is fine.
I had it on for almost 11 hours (wedding days, am I right?) and it still looked flawless as ever. Didn't retouch or repowder at all- just used blotting powder to get rid of the oils and sweat every a few hours or so. And I gotta tell you- the staying powder is incredible. After all the blotting and the occasional tissue wiping here and there, the transfer is very light and forgivable. Honestly, that's impressive considering it was such a hot, humid, and busy day! Plus, it didn't look cakey at all. Oh, so good!!
I can't recommend this product enough, and that's coming from someone who prefers being barefaced! I absolutely love everything about it and I think it's perfect for events and or pretty much any occasion! I recommend it for those with normal skin. Those with oily skin might have different opinions and feels with its oil-control but I know anyone would love its finish. I don't fully recommend this with dry skintypes, or with those with really dry patches, though.
Yay demi-matte! Yay 2019!
