The very first Soap & Glory product I bought was their Flake Away scrub two years ago. I remember loving the scent of that scrub and I loved it even more when I used it. Because of the Flake Away, I've decided to try another scrub of S&G, this time the Scrub 'Em and Leave 'Em.
I've decided to test an essence polish for this week. It's has a different finish though, one that's new in Singapore at least. It's called the "sparkly sand effect" which I assume is the rough/grainy/sand texture that became popular a year ago. I remember liquid sand polishes were quite pricey that time so I decided to pass up. But thankfully there are cheaper ones now that I can wholeheartedly try and purchase without breaking the bank.
Me and My Lover starts as a pink glittery polish but turns to a lovely shade of red when layered twice or thrice. I achieved the red shade on the third coat, making the polish more opaque and sandy. The glitters are a combination of red, pink, and gold, all very fine when wet but turns rough when dried. I decided to skip the top coat (I know, I know) and let it as it is. I figured the top coat would just ruin the rough surface of my nails which kind of defeats the purpose, really. However, I feel like my nails are harder and less prone to chipping so that's a plus. Here's to hoping this won't chip soon!
Chinese New Year is just a week away and I thought I'd share some beauty items I think would suit the occasion. Though I'm not Chinese, I know for a fact that the color red is very big in CNY and almost everyone who'll celebrate it will incorporate the color in their look. While it's very easy to find red in clothing and accessories, it can be quite tricky in beauty...or maybe not really. These are the items that I'll most likely wear/use if I were to celebrate CNY.
a. Red Hair Dye
-Red dye for new year because....why not? I personally think it's the best time of year to dye your hair red because just like they say, "New year, new hair". Why not dye your hair a shade of red after having a haircut or maybe add some red highlights? Red dyes are big this season and they come in almost all shades of red.

b. Red Lips
-Ah yes, the easiest beauty item that comes in red. I'm pretty sure almost every girl has at least one red lippie in their purse so this shouldn't be a problem. Just remember a few things when you wear a red lip: exfoliate, moisturize, line your lips with a lip liner, and of course blot/apply/blot/apply. You wouldn't want any red stains on your teeth and chin area now, would you?

c. Red Nails
-I wear red polish whenever I feel like it and CNY season is not exception. Again, there's an extensive range of red polish shades in the market so you'll have a lot to choose from. Wine red or cherry red? Glittery or matte? I personally like medium to dark hues of red as they look more toned down for me and on me. What's your favorite shade of red?

It's good to be back! After one month long stay in Singapore, a sleep-deprived zombie back last Friday. Remind me not to book an early morning flight ever again. Argh. Anyway, after unpacking 30% of my luggage, I decided to do a haul post since I have a considerable amount of purchased beauty products from my trip. ;)
Hello! Today I have an eyebrow product which I bought several days before Christmas '13. I didn't really buy it for me to use it as a brow pencil; I just bought it for the concealer end as I was looking for a waterline brightener at that time. But I figured I might as well try the brow end and see how it fares.
Makeup wipes are probably one of the most travel friendly things a beauty geek could have. They're compact, meaning it doesn't take a lot of space in your bag, clutch, and even purse...hell, it can even fit in your pocket! Most of the time I bring some with me when going out and I have makeup on. It's just nice to have something that can remove your makeup that isn't bottled, bulky, and messy.
