Bali Bites: Lunch @ KU DE TA

(DAY III)
*cue Iggy Azalea's "Fancy"*
KU DE TA was one of the places we made sure to visit. It's a popular bar/resto in Bali, with branches in Singapore, Bangkok, and soon, in Hong Kong. I quite like the feel of the place. It's breezy and cozy. I'm quite curious how it looks at night; I bet it's craaaaay!
Anyway, on to the food! Well, let's start with the drinks first.
Watermelon Crush ("a large serving of premium ketel one vodka mixed with fresh watermelon, honey, & real cinnamon, finished with a large dose of homemade ginger beer.")
Passion Fruit and Vanilla Highball ("a sweet but well balanced fusion of vanilla infused hennessy vs, amaretto, orgeat, & vanilla liquer, perfectly finished with a dash of fresh passion fruit.")
Espresso Martini ("a healthy measure of ketel one vodka and semi-bitter espresso.") (single shot) < My drink!
I looooooved my drink. The espresso martini was like espresso on crack. Looooove. And this is coming from some who's not a big fan of coffee. :)) I wish it was served with a ball of ice though, since my drink turned lukewarm and I found it hard to finish. But the flavor? Ugh, pure love.
Appetizer: Rice Crusted Soft Shell Crab ("szechuan sesame seeds, spicy yuzu dressing, & wasabi aioli")
This was a yummy starter. The crab was really crispy and the dips went really well with it. Looooved the wasabi aioli!
Chermoula Crusted Tuna Loin ("nicoise salad, tomato, beans, quail egg, and white anchovies.")
Beer Battered Snapper ("japanese coleslaw, rustic potatoes, and tartare sauce.")
The snapper was my order and I loooved it. I know it's just fish and chips in all angles but I like anything crispy and fried (unhealthy much?). I really liked the coleslaw and the tartare sauce with the fish was heaven. Yum!
Dessert one: Praline Macadamia Tart ("sponge cake, honey mousse, chocolate gelato")
Dessert two: Jaffa ("chocolate almond cake, orange marmalade, grand marnier")
OMG, you guys, the tart's honey mousse and gelato were divine! I liked they made the tart refreshing and lighter. The chocolate cake in the Jaffa was yummy but my sister and I found it a bit dry for our liking. The orange marmalade was yummy with the cake though. If I were to pick, I'd go for the Praline Macadamia Tart.
After eating, my sister and I decided to roam around. Here's more of KU DE TA:
I'm really glad I finally tried KU DE TA, in Bali no less. I liked the atmosphere when we got there but it was pretty much peaceful and quiet. If you're on the wild side, drop by at night. :)) It's quite expensive but if you want a high-end type of resto/bar, it's worth the trip. How lovely is it to dine and drink cocktails while looking at the Indian Ocean? Also, try their espresso martini! Make it a double shot, if you dare. ;)
