Recent Discovery: San San Top Coat
I may have stumbled upon a local dupe for my Catrice Quick Dry & High Shine Top Coat. Haa.
Yep, you've read that right. I've been using the Catrice Top Coat for months now and I absolutely love it. It dries quickly and helps my nail polish last longer than three days. Thing is, it's quite expensive. I bought mine in Singapore for around S$5, so that's around 175php. I know it's not OPI/China Glaze/Seche Vite level, but come on- 175php for a 10ml bottle of clear nail polish? Really?
So of course I got all excited when I saw something that's quite similar to it. Thank goodness I went to HBC.
It's apparently the new kind of top coat. The saleslady told me it's water-based. It's definitely thinner and looser...like water! I used it as a base when I wore Riviera and I have to say, it made my nails chip-free for 6 days. The peeling started on the cuticle areas which was rare because my polish always chips on the sides or on the tips of my nails. So yeah, love this as a base! I also like it as a top coat since it dries quite quickly. Glossy finish, in case you're wondering.
Did I mention this is waaaay cheaper than the Catrice Top Coat? I got this for 36php. 36php for a 12ml bottle. I know, I know. I'll leave you alone for a while to process that.
....You back? Good. As I was saying, yeah, that's how cheap it is. It's even cheaper by 1 peso than the regular thick top coat of San San. I'm not one who splurges on top coats so this definitely works for me. It does its job well, has a decent amount of product, and most of all it's affordable. How can I say no to that?
