Deep cleanse that lovely face.

Back in 2017, I raved about the Watsons Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes. It's hands down still my fave wipes because of how effective it is. What I forgot to mention is that I also liked another Watsons product: the Deep Cleansing Facial Cleansing Wipes.

The Deep Cleansing Facial Cleansing Wipes is just like the Refreshing variant, only it’s targeted more on deeply scrubbing off dirt and makeup from your face. So it’s really more of a makeup wipe than a standard wet wipe. 

Let me do a quick comparison:

Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes: for normal to oily skin

Deep Cleansing Facial Cleansing Wipes: for all skin types

Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes: contains natural witch hazel & Vitamin E

Deep Cleansing Facial Cleansing Wipes: contains natural Damascus Rose Water & Vitamin E 

Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes: cleanses the skin to remove excess oil, makeup, and dirt

Deep Cleansing Facial Cleansing Wipes: removes waterproof makeup and dirt

Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes: helps clear clogged pores

Deep Cleansing Facial Cleansing Wipes: extra moisturizing

So as you can see, both wipes work differently but they have the same function: to cleanse the skin. I think the Deep Facial Cleansing Wipes is really for removing makeup while the Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes is more for skin care. This is evident upon usage. The Refreshing wipes are lighter on the skin; the Deep Cleansing wipes feel thicker, or heavier, on the skin. It also leaves a bit of a light film that’s not sticky but somewhat manages to keep the skin feeling extra soft and moisturized. It’s a bit like when you use a creamy, lotion-y type of makeup remover, only the wipes are gentler and not too greasy.

For makeup removal, I’d say it does the job well. It’s great on powder products and decent on thin liquid products like concealers or cream lipsticks. For heavier cream products, I think this will be good to use but it will take a few sheets to wipe everything completely off. It’s also good with waterproof mascaras, though oil-based makeup removers are better. 

Overall, the Deep Cleansing Facial Cleansing Wipes are as good as the Refreshing wipes. It’s not something you’d obviously want to use if you want to freshen up but it’s something to use to get rid of makeup or if you want a deep cleanse. I haven’t experienced any breakouts from it and it’s super gentle on the eye area- no tingling sensation at all. The Refreshing wipes will always be my first choice but I wouldn’t be mad having the Deep Cleansing wipes around. If you want a product that's apt for normal to oily skin, go for the Refreshing wipes; otherwise, the Deep Cleansing wipes will work just fine.
