Bobbie Cuticle Oil Review
A pretty affordable cuticle oil from a local beauty brand.
To be honest, this isn't an entirely brand new product. I purchased this cuticle oil some time last year but I didn't really got to use it that much because my tub of The Body Shop hand cream pretty much took over my life so this one got neglected. But now I'm bringing it back from the dead bottom of my drawer to rediscover it again.
The Bobbie Cuticle Oil is a green-colored oil in this 35ml plastic dropper bottle. It apparently has avocado extract (hence why the product is color green, I think) and almond oil, both known for their regenerative and moisturizing properties, as well as Vitamin E, a product that promotes hydration.
The feel of this product, surprise surprise, is like oil. Not like cooking oil but more of baby oil. It isn't sticky, just a little slick. When you work it on the cuticles, it does feel moisturizing and nourishing. It takes a little while to dry and set so I recommend staying away from your gadgets, unless you want oil all over your screens. When it does set, it leaves a little bit of residue behind so don't expect totally dry skin.
The one thing I hate about this product though is the smell. This freaking smells like a darn air freshener you always smell on taxis. I'm not even exaggerating, guys. It's pretty strong and headache-inducing but once you get past that, this product is a pretty decent one. While my TBS hand cream is on the heavy, nighttime side of things, this cuticle oil is good for daytime use. They recommend using it twice daily, enough to keep your cuticles soft and pampered through the day.
In conclusion, this isn't really a 'meh' buy, at least not in my books. I'd still pick my TBS hand cream to be honest, but once it runs out, this one isn't a bad substitute. It's cheap, effective, and pretty easy to get a hold of. Now excuse me as I load up product on my parched nails...
